I recall once my toilet would not flush, so i took a claw hammer to it and hit it repeatedly in order to make it work. What happened was the tank cracked. It was only a few days after I realised this life lesson..

Oh LT nothing worse than a toilet that won't flush! Ours didn't flush last October for a week . Well not very well. Had to stay in the bathroom for a good ten minutes of so to allow it to flush down after a couple of attempts. Also made it evident when you went for a number two which was embarrassing. R.
