http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-iran-playing-with-fire-ballistic-missile-test-tweet-twitter-kind-president-obama-a7560981.html

Donald Trump says 'Iran is playing with fire' after ballistic missile test.

After the last few days every fibre of my being suggests conflict between Iran and the US is very likely Providing one or both sides don't go nuclear, something I don't even want to think about, it would still be a **** show that far out does far any past gulf conflicts.

The question is what is Britain's response if this does happen?

I hope not. However I do understand why the missile would cause concern, same for North Korea missiles who I think are baiting. That's a dangerous game.

What else would Britain do but look to Nato and support our allies?

Isn't North Korea on Trump's list of countries to "really piss off "

I agree. It would be our moral duty to support America. The potential consequences of Iran having nuclear capability would be unthinkable - like putting a gun in the hands of a four year old - with intent.

"The question is what is Britain's response if this does happen? "

It would be a Vote in a Emergency
Parliament session and the Vote would NO
Democratic NO.

Yes but they are not a threat
as USA NUKES
would destroy them all in the North

Trump is tough
no time for silly time wasters.

Many of us would say, neither is Iran but somehow we knew this was coming.

Look out for propaganda coming out of No.10 for clues!

Our only saving grace is, May can't declare war without the full backing of Parliament.

If nuclear weapons are involved I can't see many likely to reject it if it has come to the point the Government thinks we need to intervene. They are too dangerous and can't be trusted with nuclear weapons.

We need facts not fiction.

If there is a war with Iran it will not be about anything except to enrich armaments manufacturing and give Trump the adoration he craves. You have heard about Afghanistan and Iraq haven't you? Remember the fake WMDs? This sort of war has bugger all to do with knowledge of the so-called "Middle East".

Edited to add: and I fear May is just another Blair in the making.

What happened to needing facts not fiction? What is there to suggest May is another Blair?

Blair was and is a an egotistical creep only interested in power and money.

I feel like I'm saying "for the sake of balance" a lot lately. But anyhoo... is everyone only interested in Trump's reaction to Iran's testing of missiles? Or is it just Trump that most people are interested in? Oh, and May... who hasn't even been tested yet in a conflict situation. Some might be interested to know that the first country to speak out was Saudi.

It beats me that people can be on here criticising Trump (again) and May (again) while saying not a word about the Iranian missile tests and the implications of them.

After Iraq there would have to be real legitimate tangible evidence of a real threat for parliament to vote to go into a war on the scale of Iran.It would be heavily scrutinised.ESPECIALLY if Trump is behind the wheel. He's already under the microscope of the world.

We've never had a PM who sucked up to the American president more than Blair did and from what I'm seeing from May's behaviour towards Trump, it strikes me of similarities. May is already releasing propaganda about Iran and I fear we are all about to get well and truly played, just as we were with Blair.

The United States of America is the biggest nuclear threat to the world and the only country in the world that has actually used nuclear weapons to bomb other nations into green glass.

Iran are building a nuclear reactor and have given the west an open door policy to come and inspect it whenever they feel fit.

It's a difficult one, I'd be against a war at the moment but I do think that any Middle Eastern country that's at risk of coups or destabilisation should not have access to Nuclear weaponry. It's too much of a risk.

When it comes to North Korea, they are basically a third world country, it's populace is riddled with starvation and the government can't even afford to keep the electricity on outside of the major cities. They don't have the funds to launch an actual attack on anyone.

I hope you are right but I don't like what I keep hearing on the radio over the last few days. A war in Iran could be catastrophic to Israel, Iran, Syria and the West. A war in Iran will very likely drag us all into a nuclear WW111

Neither do Iran but even if they did, they know a nuclear launch would be suicide for Iran and much of the middle east. Nuclear weapons are kept as deterrents but whilst Israel presently has 6 nuclear war heads pointed in Iran's direction, Iran have no such weapons and have invited an open door policy as proof of that.

I'd be more worried with China at the moment building those military bases in the South China Sea.The Trump administration has made a statement on that recently

I think we should be worried about China but that's a whole other topic.
