I took this quote from the article about Danielle Lloyd's upcoming £1,000,000 million (auto)/biography?

http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=57040

This quote is about the shortened version of (Pakistani) which apparently was said in the Celebrity Big Brother house in January 2007, but, the editors who work for Endemol bird-whistled it out.

It has been said that Jack Tweed said the (C) word, instead of the (P) word. As shown below:- http://comment.independent.co.uk/columnists_a_l/dominic_lawson/article2165427.ece

So what is Danielle Lloyd on about?

I have seen that critisism has been quite small regarding Jade Goody's boyfriend, "Jack Tweed".

He seemed to do very little wrong in the CBB house and also stayed out of the arguments and tried to fit in too.

He did what he could and fit in quite well and was pretty much liked too.
_____________________________________________
What is possible, is, that Jack Tweed or whoever else in the CBB house that might have said that, didn't understand that it was so serious.

Many do assume, that it is just a lazy way of saying the word, "Pakistani" and did not understand that it may offend and is recognized as a "swear word", to certain people who find it, as offensive as the (F) or (C) word.

If you did a Google search, on the (P) word, it would open up a can of worms which would make many people think that it is not a serious offensive word.

Did "Jack" or the other suspected housemate not realise.

I have also noticed that there are many Mobile Phone wallpaper & screensaver websites out there and I have also seen this (P) word recently on a Mobile Phone wallpaper and it was from a school kid who was sending it to other friends who thought the comments that went with the (P) word were funny.

They were not funny and I shal'nt elaborate either.
____________________________________________
If Endemol editors did edit this (P) word out, then, is that a correct judgement call?

If Jack or another housemate said it, should they face more questioning?

If a housemate said this (P) word and claimed that they weren't aware that it was offensive to a massive degree?

If Danielle Lloyd pointed the finger at a certain housemate, would it be advisable for the named housemate to deny it, rather than admit it?

As Shilpa Shetty was obviously an Indian Bollywood film actress and the (P) word was mentioned, then, is it like calling a Scottish person, "Welsh?"

In 2007,(The 21st century), much of what is acceptable today, certainly, wouldn't be acceptable 50 or more years ago. This is very true.

But,

Even though Racism, is certainly not accepted today!

Looking at TV, Film, Music, Newspapers, The Web, etc....

It is making things very difficult to deal with in the courts today. Hence, the CPS ruling that CBB Jan's furore was over offensive words & comments only.

Of course Jack would know what it really meant and its impact if he did say it. I think it shows his ignorance further if he did anyway.
Jack was not liked. He was hostile towards Shilpa for no apparent reason, perhaps to make Jade happy. Not to mention he was B-O-R-I-N-G with enough brains to fill an egg-cup (just about).
I reckon he was being more of a tw@t than racist. Because even if it was the 'C' word he said, that's hardly acceptable either when he said it for no apparent reason and nothing had been done to him personally!

You know what..... I've come to the conclusion that I no longer care about the low lifes in CBB

I've had enough of the over analysis of z list celebs and I would rather watch paint dry than waste my time typing anymore.... and on that note..... I shall not waste any further time on them either

I understand what you say, Ash.

But, Jack Tweed may understand that Shilpa Shetty and also, thousands of viewers may also find it offensive and also racist too.

But, Jack or whoever else who may have said it, may not realise the full implications of saying it there and then on CBB Jan.

If he said it in the street or a pub, with some mates, it wouldn't be taken so seriously, even if someone said it!

This is why I say, that maybe he or someone else, wasn't so aware of it on a reality show like this?

Jack was boring to many and perhaps quite shy.

Being shy can make you boring and if Jack found Shilpa to be an irrotant too, then he was quite restrained really.

The focus was on Jade, Jo & Danielle.

Jack was just in the background.
______________________________________________
Jack shouldn't say the (P) word or the (C) word, but they are both offensive words and Endemol editors make their judgements.

It seems that today, programmes like Big Brother can keep in (F) & (C) words after the watershed, but the (P) word is kept out, "If it was said, that is?"

I think that deep down, many of us were expecting this furore to just blow over? kizwiz

But, there is serious money on the table at this moment.

Jade Goody & Jo O'Meara have not picked it up, but Danielle Lloyd has.

As this book has serious implications maybe, to Big Brother. It is going to keep coming up.

This story is only about the (P) word, or (C) word and how people view it and how Jack should deal with it.

NOT, going over old ground again! That has been discussed at length, this is different and relates to Dani's new book, but is still a topic worth discussing.

Those who wish to debate it, care.

The future of BB & CBB depends on it...

Hiding from it, won't make all this go away! Danielle Lloyd and 1 million quid promises that! Jack Tweed may be worrying right now? and thinking about the (P) or (C) word? But I would suspect, it is the (P) rather than the (C). which would worry everyone.

Well there have been a few replies,

so it'll soon be time for a poster to repeat all the points already made - ad nauseum, in another flurry of copy and paste mantra, like its going to make a lick of difference to everyone else who knows exactly what is what.

Exactly, people are not going to be brainwashed by the ramblings of one person who is just a fan and offering an opinion rather than facts.People have seen things for themselves and can come to their own conclusions.

I can't stand anyone from CBB anymore.
Well I still like Danielle, but I dont really care about the press stuff anymore.

Shilpa I cant stand
Jade I cant stand
They can all just go away! Including Danielle.

Bring on BB8! Some new faces.

I think maybe it is best to lock this one. Don't see the point of this thread and didn't think the original post was a very good thing to be bringing up to be honest
