24's my favourite show so I'm excited/nervous for this :amazed: It starts in the UK on 15th Feb but the first couple of episodes have already aired in America. Is anyone else watching?

Not going to watch or give chance to the show without Jack Bauer/Kiefer. Just isnīt the same.

I'd have much preferred a new season with the old cast, it definitely won't be the same without Jack and Chloe, I reckon it could still be decent though if it has the same writers etc.

Kiefer Sutherland is producing it, so i'm sure it will be great. And i'm hoping he will make a cameo at some point :fc:

I've started watching this and I'm really disappointed. It's not that it's a terrible show or anything it just feels a bit pointless. Like, the main guy is basically a Jack clone with how they've written him so it makes you wonder why bother to bring it back with a 'new and fresh' cast if they're not going to carry that over to the characterisations too. It just doesn't work (maybe it's better if you haven't seen the original series). They should have differentiated his character more, or had someone like Kate from Live Another Day take over as lead. It's watchable enough though and I'd probably enjoy it more if I didn't love the original series so much but by comparison it's just a bit... meh. I'm here for there being gay characters though

I've finished it and I take back what I said about it not being terrible  I don't think I'll watch if they decide to commission another series.
Tony coming back was great and was the only thing I really enjoyed about the series, made me wonder why if Carlos Bernard was obviously keen to continue to be in it, and the writers wanted him to be in it... why not focus the show on him?

It was awful. I liked the first episode and there were a couple of episodes later in the season that were decent, but it was just a huge waste of time. The only good thing they did was bring Tony back, but they followed that up by giving him nothing to do.
There was a point in the early seasons when the show wasn't just about Jack, it was an ensemble drama/action show with a great cast. Despite Season 5 being the most acclaimed season of the show it was that season when it did become the Jack show, and every season that followed was the same, less focus on the supporting cast, all focus on Jack. You can't do that from Seasons 5-8 + Live Another Day and then randomly drop him and follow a different character. It doesn't work.

I quit 24 when Jack was wearing fake glasses and doing a horrible, horrible fake German accent. Literally the last episode I ever watched.

Early Season 8, I think? You only had about 20 episodes to go until the show was over for good (til it was revived).

But those 20 episodes, I fear, could have destroyed the previous 7 years that I really enjoyed :worry:.

Season 8 started out poorly to be fair, the second half of the season was pretty brilliant though

I agree, there was a lot about the second half that was great, Jacks rampage, Dalia  Taylor and Logan, and the ending was great. Season 8 was about on a par with season 7 overall imo (pretty different, but quality wise)
