Last week, a man with a machete was shot when he injured a soldier outside of the Carrousel du Louvre mall in Paris while he shouted the Islamic phrase "Allahu Akbar." Both of those injured have made a full recovery. But that didn't stop Donald Trump from calling the incident an act of Islamic terrorism and using the incident to justify his 'Muslim ban' on Twitter when it emerged that the Egyptian man had gotten into France with a tourist visa.

We must keep "evil" out of our country!
Egypt is not on the list of seven Muslim-majority countries that had travel rights to the United States suspended by the executive order.
And it looks like as well as the Australians and British, Donald Trump has now also annoyed the French. You know, the people who bankrupted themselves funding the American revolution.
Facebook user Egie Wild, a French woman from Paris, decided to break down everything that was wrong with Trump's tweet in a Facebook post. She wrote:
"Dear Mr Trump,"
"Thank you for your concern."
"A man has indeed attacked a soldier with two machetes this morning in Paris."
"It wasn't in the Louvre Museum, it was in the Carrousel du Louvre, which is a mall. (Less symbolic than what you're implying.)"
"He didn't attack any tourist (or french people -apart from the soldier- either, by the way, thank you again for your concern) and he was instantly attacked back by another soldier, and wounded."
"The crowd has been kept inside after that by order of the army for security reasons, but not for any kind of hostage situation. (Your tweet is -voluntarily?- ambiguous)"
"France is not on edge again, at all. I learnt about the attack 10 hours after it happened (even though it was in the media earlier), and I spent 1h30 in another mall in Paris at lunch today without any kind of military reinforcement (I mean, just the usual since Charlie Hebdo or nov 2015 attacks)."
"Oh and by the way, the man is from Egypt, you know, the country you didn't ban from entering the US (because of your personnal affairs?)"
"Again, thank you for your concern, but don't use France as an excuse for your arseholery. You're the one encouraging fear with your distortion of truth."
"Regards,"
"Egie Wild"
"PS : GET SMART U.S. : Don't believe anything that he says without checking facts first."
The post has been shared some 250,000 times since it was posted, and attracted thousands of comments from around the world.
"'Arseholery,' what a great word to add to my vocabulary," one user joked.
While another added: "Interesting he was silent about some alt-right kid attacking a mosque at our neighbors to the north, but this is tweet worthy when it isn't even in the same realm."
Shots. Fired.

Its not a muslim ban
There is zero evidence that Trump has excluded countries due to his "affairs"
It wasn't in the Louvre Museum, it was in the Carrousel du Louvre, which is a mall. - Well excuuuuuuse me madame
"He didn't attack any tourist (or french people -apart from the soldier" - oh thats ok, just a soldier, beginning to see where you are coming from here politically..
"France is not on edge again" - I see, you know that for a fact? Seems like your tourists disagree http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38528960
and finally does she not understand what a rolling news story is, what twitter is and how news stories change rapidly as new information rolls in

Exactly why the leader of a nation should resist commenting until he has a broader and accurate view of the situation. No?

Trump does twitter, its for immediate reaction, he can make speeches later. YOu have to understand the medium and that its 2017 and that this is how he rolls.
Obviously that catty young woman does not

Yes I agree, he's still acting like a reality TV celebrity and not a president. That's the point you were making, right?

Do they?
I don't even have a problem with the occasional tweet, to be fair. The constant twit-twit-twit of "information" designed to confuse / scare / wind up, and deliberately mislead, his own citizens... yes I have more of a problem with that.
Why is Paris full of armed soldiers walking the streets?

Yes, terrorists have attacked Paris in recent years, which has lead to security in the city being tightened, I don't quite see what else you're hinting at, it's not exactly a secret.
Talking about terrorists, has Trump tweeted about the Alt Right terrorist who attacked a Mosque in Canada? Or the one who killed Jo Cox? Or does Trump only care about Muslim terrorists?

You can see why some people are looking towards a new leadership and are even prepared to go for the far-right party of Le Pen.

Twitter is a pretty awful medium for discussing, or putting across, political points, I think. Nothing ever has to reasoned or justified on it.

jo cox was long before he was president and with the canada one he personally called the Canadian PM and offered any help, maybe thought that would be better than a tweet as they are neighbours

They are just replacing a more unpleasant looking fence that presently sits around the Eiffel Tower.

Yes it is and presently its chain link fencing which looks horrible. If they are going to surround it with glass, they may as well make it bullet proof. The problem I see is, its going to get defaced with graffiti pretty quickly.
