A Swedish police officer recently offered up a little more truth than people are used to when he posted an epic rant on Facebook about immigrant crimes plaguing his police department and his country. In the beginning of the post, the police officer said that he was "so ****ing tired" and warned that "what I will write here below, is not politically correct.

Not surprisingly, Springare's rants ignited an immediate national firestorm with supporters applauding his courage for speaking up while others blasted his rant as racist and xenophobic.

People supporting Springare’s rant started a group on Facebook that quickly amassed over 75,000 members including several of his fellow police officers. Meanwhile, according to news website Nyheter Idag, the police station where Springare works received at least 60 bouquets of flowers addressed to him on Monday – a “bloombomb” from admirers.

A report last year found more than 55 no go zones in Sweden where violent crime is flourishing as the police are unable to enter them. Attacks on emergency services workers has also risen, leading to three police officers a day quitting the force.

Mr Springare is not the only person to have come under fire for pointing out the crisis. The Czech author Katerina Janouch was accused of “spreading Russian propaganda” for suggesting that interest in learning how to shoot was on the rise as people were scared for their safety.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven called her statements “strange”, but a Swedish citizen defended her, telling the Express: “Katerina pointed out there are a number of areas in Sweden where the police, fire services, emergency services, won’t go and they are not the only ones.”

There definitely seems to be a link between certain immigrants and crime, especially sexual crime, thoughout the West. Some refuse to believe it because it doesn't fit with their ideolistic ideas, but the evidence is there.

He raises some good points though and the more some of us ignore him and pretend this doesn't happen the more the ignorant and the bigoted can exploit this for their own gains.

Whilst the issue of immigration is touchy, particularly now, it does seem both sides of the fence are arguing from impossible extremes. On one side: ban all Muslims and try to pretend you aren't a bit racist. On the other, continue to allow free movement and post a sad face when a truck plows through a Christmas market.

It's just not an issue I see an answer to: vetting for terrorism does not seem to work, if it's at all possible. I know there's a huge stigma about the police searching our own Internet histories and private messages like email, and rightly so since its intrusive and contradictive to the freedom we pride ourselves on, but perhaps those looking to migrate elsewhere should have theirs checked beforehand since the issue of citizenship naturally throws up all sorts of "do their values match ours?" questions. I don't know if this is even something looked at - in my head vetting migrants is a search of their luggage and maybe an interrogation on the spot. What is done about migrants' history (beyond the criminal record)?

I agree with you that this problem can't be ignored or vehemently refuted as false just to take the tolerant position and look 'progressive'.It needs sorting and i'm not one to say 'ban all muslims' etc.I believe there should be a sensible procedure for getting actual refugees processed and found places to live.However the illegal people smugglers need to be deterred.

How is telling the truth being a bigot? As a policeman, this man surely has a better idea of the crime statistics than you or I. It's been proven time and again, not just in Scandinavia, but other European countries too, that crime statistics increase when there is an influx of immigrants to an area.
I don't care if i am labelled a bigot or a racist, because I really do want to see an end to muslim immigration.

For example there are millions of people here in Turkey have the same values as the people in Europe and they would be assets to the european society.
