MSN Hates Me!

I'm having so much trouble with MSN that I'm deleting the damn thing. I'm guna be using Yahell now, as it's the lesser of 2 evils.

It's been like this for months now Ash.. I'm sick of it. I used to hate Yahell for the same reason, and now it's behaving itself and MSN aint. I got booted a record number of times last night, and it's just outta hand!!!

I got a load of ppl on Yahoo anyway, and I can always get ppl here just the same, so it's not so bad... I won't miss it.. not the way it's been acting lately!

You havin probs n all Andy? It's unreal lately. It started bein a pain before xmas, but it's been outta hand lately. It's just booting me off all the time. And everytime Ash signs on, it freezes.. so its all her fault. LoL

I've managed to sign on twice today... after trying loads of times! It really is very annoying. But I know of looooads of people who have complained, so hopefully something will be done about it soon?

It seems to be since they changed it to WLM. I tried DLing the old version but it wasn't any better to be honest. I dunno if it's co-incidence, but I do think the Windows Live isn't quite up to scratch.

I'm looking for stuff online to see if there's maybe a patch or something. My puter is quite old and my OS is a bit unstable, so that probably isn't helping.

If I can find a patch, I'll let you know how it works out.

Do you use a router to connect to the Internet - like if you have wireless networking in your house? If you do there might be something that might help, maybe. If you don't it won't so I won't mention it.

You could also try Trillian, which let's you connect to MSN/Yahoo/AIM etc. but I've had mixed results with that (messages not getting through) so I just use Live Messenger now mainly, and it works for me.

Cheers James. I tried Trillian, but it was hellish as well to be honest. Although, I had less bootage (I made that word up) on it. Just more probs with msgs not going out or coming in.

I just find it alot easier to use to be honest i gave yahoo a go few months back and i just didn't like it. Depends what people find easier i guess.

No, yahoo doesn't hate me. It's not great, but hey, it's not booting me. I've been on it for the last 3 days and it aint booted me once. Unlike the sodding MSN. It boots me on average, every 4 minutes!

And, yes, we did agree NEVER EVER to do that.. EVER! I don't like the food in Cornton Vale!!! :laugh:

Well, I could never get Yahoo to even sign in, so I just didn't bother with it. MSN sometimes has major crashes, but it's just what I'm used to, I've had it for a long time now (6 years almost!)

Greg, I've had Yahell for like 6 years, and I'm probably more used to it than MSN, so it's not really a huge culture shock for me to not have MSN.

Rebecca.. My problems started when I changed to WLM. I tried rolling back to the older versions, yet still had the same problems. So, I really don't know what to think.

Rebecca.. all MSN versions from 8.0 onwards are classed as "Windows Live Messenger". There were 2 or 3 beta versions of WLM 8.0 and now I believe we are onto WLM 8.1.

It's only since then that I have had major problems with it. And, even as I try to rollback to MSN 7.0 and MSN 7.5 I still have the issues.

I'm wondering if something is being left behind when I uninstall WLM and this is causing the problem. I might try to clean out all traces of MSN and WLM from the registry and see if that helps. Then I can put a clean install of MSN 7.0 or MSN 7.5.

I removed msn for the same reasons Stropz, however my daughter accesses it through e-buddy I believe and has no problems at all.
