Brad Pitt is overrated and kind of a limited actor.
Is he over-rated though? I mean yeah he's very famous but I don't think he's widely considered to be especially talented.

Will Smith is another one for me. I find him charismatic and enjoyable to watch. He can easily carry a film. But can he act? I don't think I've ever seen him play anyone other than... Will Smith.

Jennifer Lawrence... Def over rated. An Oscar, multiple other awards... Has no one noticed that she can't act??

Oh here's one...

James Bond films are boring. They just are. It's not even that I dislike them, I actually find them interesting enough. In chunks. But I've never managed to sit through one, in one sitting, and not fall asleep at some point.

Batman vs Superman...

if you watch the directors cut and ignore the "Martha" scene and Lois going full weetod and disposing of the kryptonite spear by simply throwing it into a pool... Where ANYONE could get it... ...

... Is one of the best superhero movies ever made.

agree with TS about Brad Pitt, I don't he was ever rated as a fantastic actor just a big draw for films what with him being very pretty. He does play some roles very well though like mental patient (12 monkeys) stoner (True Romance)

How dare you! Titanic is iconic. Yes it is objectively bad but, also, it is brilliant.

He's also a good Tyler Durden but, again, I wouldn't say he's really "acting" and also Tyler Durden is a very two dimensional character, a caricature really, by design as he isn't actually a full character, he's a small piece of Edward Norton's character, so isn't SUPPOSED to have depth. But yes was chosen for the role based on his looks / body as he's the "idealised" image that Norton character is supposed to have of himself.

It's a funny one. The script is frigging terrible and James Cameron is such a bad writer.

But I can't help but enjoy the spectacle of the last 2 hours. It was really well made and the effects still hold up today, just a shame they didn't get an actual good writer to do the script.

Exactly. Titanic is thoroughly in "so bad I'd watch it forever" territory. Me and th'wife watch it at least once a year :joker:.

"Love Actually" also falls into this category. ABYSMAL film if you think about it too hard. But when it comes on at Xmas do I watch the **** out of it? Of course I do! Even though it has Keira Knightly, who is the 2nd most irritating actor in the world, only beaten by

Yeah I suppose in a way Ty;er Durden fits in with me examples, he's good at playing not very serious jokey type characters, it's like he lacks the emotional depth to play a serious character in a believable way

1. I felt that Wolfgang's plot in Sense8 goes nowhere in the middle of the season other than a potential romantic entanglement with Kala.

2. Buffy The Vampire Slayer has a weak male cast (with the exception of Giles) the rest were complete wallpaper.

3. Colin Farrell has the best character in Minority Report.

4. Ann Perkins from Parks And Recreation was really dull away from her dynamic with Leslie as she doesn't provide much Comedy.

5. I prefer Shrek 1 to Shrek 2.

6. Season 2 of Falling Skies has been one of the most entertaining seasons of a TV Show within the last decade.

7. I like the later on episodes of Spongebob Squarepants.

8. Mama is a really enjoyable Horror Film with a great eery atmosphere.

9. I feel that Homeland sucked after the first season and fell in love too much with Damien Lewis's character.

10. Interstellar was a really boring Film with no interesting story after the premise.

how does one "try to act like a man" ?I think he's probably referring to the Ghostbusters film, which I haven't seen either, but by all accounts the characters are butch and aggressive and instead of celebrating them as feminine, they try to act masculine.

See I think both are true. Angel is a great character and Boreanaz plays him well BUT he doesn't come into his own until the spin off. IN Buffy he is weak af. Spike goes the other way starting out "big bad", gets worse when they neuter him, and then they totally cut his balls off by turning him into Buffy's puppy.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is a bad actress and ruined Buffy.

She isn't a great actress I agree with, but I don't think she ruined buffy, and was actually quite well cast. It's not a show that was about great acting.

I wouldn't have said those characters were overly "butch" whatever that means, they do need to stop remaking old classics though. It was trying waaaaay too hard to be funny and it was over kill.

The US remake of The Ring is better than the Japanese one.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become too overblown and the increasingly massive scope makes it less appealing to bother trying to keep up with it.
While I enjoy Game of Thrones and of course appreciate that it's one of the best-made shows on TV, I'm not particularly invested in it beyond a surface level of enjoyment (there are shows that I'm absolutely hooked on and GoT isn't one) and the thought of it ending in the next couple of years doesn't bother me at all.

I get what you mean with Game Of Thrones, I really enjoy the programme but I do have personal favourites over it that are technically not written as well as Game Of Thrones.

I think Game Of Thrones hype is that it's a Fantasy programme that's more adult than what you usually get on TV, and it's actually got good quality to it which is unusual on TV with the exception of Merlin, which even that had to play to the family route.

Oh technically Merlin's miles behind, and it fell into the slashing community a little bit with Merlin and Arthur's dynamic during season 4 and 5 in particular.

However considering it's production values being lower than most of the Fantasy shows from the US, I would say that it bests most of them bar Game Of Thrones, especially Charmed which I don't get how that got 8 seasons was it? None of them can act, the dialogue is beyond appalling, and all of them get treated like a piece of meat on the programme with the exception of Piper who instead gets treated as just the housewife.

I thought Salvation was a decent enough Sci-Fi flick - certainly moreso than Terminator 3 or the newest one :umm2: - but not a particularly good Terminator film compared to the first two. Still waiting for a good sequel on that front :(.

Crystal Skull though. Come on. Just... it's barely watchable...

I thought the fridge scene that everyone said was ridiculous was really funny. :D

With Terminator it shows that what you can do with these franchises (eg. Alien, Predator, Jurassic Park, even Star Wars) story-wise is actually quite limited. With Terminator it has to be a robot sent back to our time to kill someone. And when you deviate from that it doesn't really work. It's as much to do with audiences expectations also.

I think Batman v Superman is a better film than Civil War. Probably wouldn't have said this at the time but the more I think about it BvS resonates more and sticks with me. Civil War was great but at the same time I feel like it was a fun couple of hours without really having any stakes or repercussions. Disposable in a way, just a standard Marvel formula movie (which I thought was getting quite boring until Doctor Strange changed it up).

I think BvS will get better with time and might get a cult following. I definitely think it was a more memorable film but wasn't without its problems obviously. I'm in the minority than liked Lex Luthor though. But if I could only ever watch one of them again I would have to say BvS, it has a lot going on and because it was more complex than the usual superhero movie formula it just got passed off as crap when its far from it. Wish I could make the same case for Suicide Squad but that was just trash plain and simple.

I enjoyed Suicide Squad despite its negative critical reception. I get why people dislike it though. It's not an amazing movie by any means and it has its flaws (thinly-written characters and jumbled plot stick out the most) but I still managed to be entertained by it.

On a related note, Jared Leto and Cara Delevingne are overrated. Both are painfully blatant cases of Hollywood nepotism, neither of which can act and come across as awful people. Cara is also overrated as a model, she's not attractive at all? And I don't understand why Leto's performance as the joker was so well-received, it was tedious.

I liked Star Trek: Enterprise.

I think that Killjoys and The Expanse are better than Star Trek: Discovery.

Wolfgang was an okay character in Sense8, but personally don't get the crazy popularity that he got over characters like Will, Sun, and Capheus.

The Matrix trilogy was just enjoyable throughout and not just living off the first installment.

And Minority Report is the greatest Sci-Fi Movie ever made.

Oh and Interstellar was one long boring Movie that had hardly anything interesting happen.

The show is wasted potential, but I've already gone in depth on another thread about it so I'll leave it here.

Just watch her in Ringer. TERRIBLE actress.

The only time I'd say that Sarah Michelle Gellar reached above average was in Cruel Intentions, she actually does out act the other two stars by a mile imo.
