Using words like 'fascist' to describe Trump is immature and simply undermines it's true meaning. It weakens someone's argument - give em enough rope...

I don't think he's a fascist. I think he seeks popularity (amongst those already on his coat tails) but is ultimately self-serving under the guise of populism. I think he is deluded and unintelligent. I think he would LOVE to be totalitarian if he could find a way to get away with it. I think he is probably dangerous and a narcissist. I don't think he expected or particularly wanted to win the presidency and now has very little idea what he's supposed to be doing, and is essentially winging it.
On a personal level I find him and his mannerisms intensely irritating. I find him to be a terrible, unconvincing and disingenuous public speaker. He is over-sensitive and defensive.
I could go on all day really but no... Fascism isn't really the issue.

So who do you like?
Its easy to identify problems but not so easy to solve them, who is your fave..Cameron, Brown, May, Bill Clinton?
Slagging of Trump is easy, popular and somewhat predictable. But you have no album or record to sell so say who you admire

I'm sure I clarified just yesterday that I think it's all a load of horse ****? That doesn't mean I have to pretend that Trump is something he isn't. Sure he shakes up the status quo, a bit, sort of... That doesn't mean he isn't everything I said above .

Trump is exactly what politics needs
Fake, pc lies, say not what you think but what you think you should say, doublespeak, lies, virtue signalling
id rather have trump and his vanity than clinton and her utter lies, contempt and entitlement

The fact that Trumps lies are pettier and more obvious doesn't mean he isn't a liar?

I do agree that he didn't expect or want to win , was probably more shocked than most and probably questiond what the **** he had done. But he is having to get on with it. That said - he was/is an improvement on the only opposition.
He is not an accomplished and disingenuous politician and puts his foot in it constantly, but I prefer that bumbling inexperienced novice to the hard-nosed, scheming and downright devious professional Clinton, any day. Professional con-artist out to line her own pockets, more my idea of madness.

And yet Corbyn has been roundly mocked on these forums for not being "PM material" and for not toeing the line, and people were all over Milliband for being weird while eating a sandwich and "Having a weird voice and making odd faces when he talks" because you couldn't have that as a respectable PM. Hmmmmm how very odd... It's almost like the criteria morphs and changes with each situation based on other political factors and leanings :omgno:

Trump gets called the worst things by this forum and do you know why because people know that on here everyone will agree with them so they feel emboldened to be vile and mean
Its just mob rule tbh

Wah wah the kids are ganging up on me and my friend Trump!
For one, your numbers are off, I can think of at least 6 SD regulars who are largely pro-trump and probably a similar number who are vocally anti-trump (as in, make posts longer than a few sentences) with another handful in the middle. SD doesn't have very many hugely active members? For example, in this thread there are three clearly pro Trump members and only two who are not. You are perceiving a numbers advantage that simply doesn't exist. Don't confuse the weakness of your troops for being outnumbered :nono:.
For two, even if you were outnumbered, the strength of your argument shouldn't rely on how many people are backing it up. It's a linear forum, someone reading the threads top to bottom will see and read your post if it is worth reading, you can't be "drowned out" and your argument, if it's worth it's salt, should stand on its own two feet no matter how many people are countering it.
Some of us aren't counting. I for one will happily engage in a thread where everyone you think is on "my side" is banned from posting, and you can have ALL of your pro Trump "mob". You'll probably still be whining about mob rule because it's an easy excuse for a weak argument :idc:.

if the EU mess goes onto May 2020 - which is not that long away
as then the General Election
Can be Vote Corbyn - stay in the EU etc
Shocking idea
but he can be PM.
I called the Conservative /LibDem power

The difference being that Corbyn and Milliband are experienced politicians, Trump isn't. He likely put himself up against Clinton in protest against the lack of any viable choice and to prove a point.
Against the odds he won and found himself with the most powerful job in the world. How could there not be teething problems when even so-called professionals mess up all the time.
Totally unreasonable and just a witchhunt form all those Trump haters and sore Clinton losers. The guy really does have the fight of his life ahead of him with all that hate. Not a position most people would want to be in.

same as brexit, people hate losing and hate being wrong so by slagging off both it makes them feel better about themselves and the fact their POV is not shared by the majority

Its just bollocks LT, the point is that most people DON'T have to feel like their opinion is shared by the majority and therefore, just because the majority cotes for something, does not mean that opinions change to match. Personally I'd start to worry a bit if many of my opinions were shared by the public majority... I mean... look at them.
People "slag off" Brexit and Trump because they think they were bad decisions, bad for their countries, bad for the world. Trump is a little harder to take a concrete stance on there because Clinton would also have been bad news. Though what some fail to understand is that Clinton being bad news doesn't somehow make Trump GOOD news.

I don't know about anyone else but I didn't say he was a good choice, he was the only choice considering. Good or bad - too early to say, what I do know is that he isn't being given a fair go by some due to their pre-conceptions of him as a person and his strong presentation of his views.
His hard line on immigration is popular with many, same with Brexit, which clearly demonstrates problems with enforced immigration and people not being asked their opinions on this despite being very much affected by it - It is undemocratic and a democratic vote had its say.
