I used to honestly love playing forum games on here, they came along seldom but even if I didn't play I would read along etc
I don't know why but now I avoid them. I don't know if it's just general exhaust from playing or if it's just how many their are or even the repetitive scenarios and people who play them (no shade I play too so im not coming for anyone) and the obvious alliance etc.
Anyone else (who plays) feeling a bit like this?
• I do love Darkwood and ICB though i must confess

I don't really play often because it can be a bit repetitive, although I haven't actually seen that many games been hosted recently?

I actually feel there is a lack of games tbh there has been one or 2 successful one in the last 5 or 6 moths

I've stopped playing them now, don't really have the time for it and they can be repetitive at times

The problem is that it's really difficult to get people to apply for games especially new ones that they're not familiar with. I don't know how any new game can actually get past the applications process unless the person running it is popular and all their friends on here play but even then they're usually accepting people on the same day as launch.
Idk what that is :worry:
Of course you don't, it's not like every season you come into the game thread and say how much you're enjoying reading the game/which cast members you dislike, is it? :suspect:

I played only The Bachelor so far, so I don't know much about other games.
I'm not sure if there are enough people for enough games, and there are plenty of games and it's quite a commitment at times - maybe it makes people more picky which one to participate in?
I guess it's disappointing when people plan their games and then it might not get executed due to lack of interest/people more interested in other games that happen at the same time?
Maybe regulating the amount of parallel games every month and such can help? Just to give a fair chance for everyone and defuse the "unofficial" competition between games.

Well I have started a new game popstars: supergroups all the details are on the X factor page if anyone is interested?
But other than that I try to differentiate my seasons to make them more interesting (especially with my upcoming season but I'm not saying anything) , and I know Jarrod is trying to do that with his upcoming BB series, Will did it by trying to change up the game by introducing two bachelors instead of one which made it a really good enjoyable season with a new format, and obviously Shaun and Dezzy make every season of ICB and Darkwood different with every season and they do it flawlessly. My point is that we're all trying to make everything as enjoyable as possible and change things to stop them being 'repetitve'. It's not like we don't try. I honestly feel like there needs to be more of a respect to people who put time in and actually run these things rather than threads like these which is basically saying 'You're boring us'...

Most of us do try and organise it fairly and give plenty of notice months prior so people can organise their games accordingly and give plenty of room for others but even then random schedule-stopping games pop up, which is quite irritatiing.

I understand and agree.
Maybe it would be better to create a rules/guidelines/games-calendar sticky thread, to make it clearer to new members/those who are not familiar with how it all goes? Not in a strict manner, just help it run more smoothly.

That would actually be a nice idea, I might ask the others if they can contribute anything and we could make a little list of suggested guidelines and everything with a little calendar
I only really take part in games to boost cast numbers and I end up enjoying near enough all of them. I didn't expect to enjoy Revolution since I'm not good with strategy but I did. Same with Survivor. TiBB BB is always great and I really enjoy Will's Bachelor because it's nice and lighthearted and I'll find a way to take part every time he runs it!
I've never played Darkwood but I'd like to and I played In Cold Blood years ago and that was fun. No other games come to mind ATM. I presume Elimination is pretty much done, especially with Revolution being successful.

Calm down. I posted this initially at almost 1am and simply must have forgotten what your game was called since I've never played. I wasn't being shady at all and yes I did think the last Revolution was good.

I've noticed loads of games over the last few months asking for applications but then not going ahead because of numbers, so maybe if the problem is that they aren't being noticed a special section for them could be a good idea? Maybe just a stickied thread or something that shows which games are coming up and need applicants? It's a shame if they're not going ahead just because people are missing them, they can be a lot of fun and the hosts put so much effort into them so finding a way of making them more prominent might be an idea.
Amy I remember when you did that magazine for I'm A Celeb!
I remmber that too! Amy's hand drawn tasks :flutter: It's little things like that that I really enjoy about tibb games. I get what people are saying about repetitiveness sometimes but you also get to see a lot of creativity and I love that about them. And it's not always repetitive, Winter won The Bachelor when he's never taken part in any games before, Adam won one too and then in the recent one he was voted off first  (both scenarios being unexpected :smug: ), so you do get surprises too.
I presume Elimination is pretty much done, especially with Revolution being successful.
It's not at all, both games coexist peacefully.

I used to play alot of games when i first joined, I don't like to commit to them much anymore though which is why I like Pub Quiz because you have 2 days to work on each round and don't need to be on at specific times

It was surprisingly difficult to find the players for the last series of ICB I did last year given its history and success on the forum and I can't really put it down to anything other than a dip in activity. Aren't as many off-season members as there used to be and I can't help but wonder if the strong friend groups are a little offputting to newbies - no shade since I'd consider myself a part of that problem. There's generally long been a sense that on-season (and therefore, on-season members) is a nightmare and unwanted by the others on the forum, so I can't help but wonder if that's the problem.
They are a big commitment though... I think we hosts like to make the most dazzling and challenging tasks possible now... I remember for the first series of in cold blood I had tasks that were like "unscramble these 5 words and that's it" LOL whereas now I'm drawn to 2 day periods and huge themes and everything. It may be a bit daunting.

Alright then

I'll be running Elimination in the summer, I tried last year but realised it was a bad time during exam season which is why I got so few apps, then planned to attempt it again in August but as usual found myself busy with getting ready for uni/trips/other things
Thankfully that shouldn't be a problem going forward considering I finish in two months

I knew someone would say this. Where in this thread has anyone slagged off the hosts? Everyone respects the hosts for the effort they put into the games, just because we personally don't feel compelled to join them doesn't mean we are being nasty about the hosts?

Yeah I do believe new games on here are pretty much dead because you'd have to recruit people to the forum to play them.
I think TiBB BB, ICB and Elimination have struggled with applicants too so as Shaun said I don't think it's the games that are the problem it's just a lack of people interested in doing them.

I think if there was a better system for games maybe like more rewards for not just going all the way and winning would entice more people to play them.

Both seasons of Revolution struggled with applicants and I saw quite a few only wanted to join once the game was running, I found during the application stage i had to message people a lot to get them in
Everyone respects the hosts for the effort they put into the games
That point was not just about this thread- a lot of people really don't in general...
Yeah I have noticed that most games over the past year/two years have had an influx of people joining late during launch/the first few days because people only become interested in playing them once they're up and running. I don't know what could be done to solve that.
Yeah a lot of people seem to whine about everything the host does during a game. I don't think she posts here anymore but I seem to recall Mokka slating everything Tom did during Revolution in summer 2016.

I think perhaps I'm going to do like a highlighrs thread of past games so that more people can see what it's like when it's running

Echo it not being easy to host :joker: Following tight schedules with untested (time wise) challenges can be very tricky

Tom I really wasn't coming for you or any hosts. As I said I honestly enjoyed the last series of Evolution so I'm not really sure why you think anyone is being disrespectful towards hosts.
As I said initially and Shaun went more into it's probably more to do with who plays and the alignment of friends which can put off people playing idk I'm honestly not blaming anyone just saying how I feel.
I'm sorry if I made you feel that way during Will's Bachelor game but it was just light hearted fun!

Oh no I was playing along no hard feelings at all!
I will say though on thinking about the reason I was kicked off (I had won games before) it is a little disheartening because I'll worry people will want me out asap if I play in future because I somehow managed to win a few games

I'm not playing anymore TiBB games atm.
I've competed in a few games over the past year (I'm A TiBB Member, TiBB BB, Revolution, Survivor) and I really enjoyed all of them but I'm just so busy with work that I don't have the time to commit to any (heck I'm barely on here as much as I used to be) and they really do require a lot of time and it can be daunting. I remember TiBB Survivor starting a few days after Revolution had ended and by that point I was just so drained out after playing Revolution for three weeks and both we were really task-orientated. I don't even remember doing much for the tasks during TiBB BB either. I think I'm just lazy tbh, I still haven't even gotten around to hosting TiBB Apprentice and it's been a year since I announced it.
But yeah, I've had a lot of PM's recently from people asking me to apply for their games and whilst I appreciate that they're trying to get more players, I can't really commit and I'll end up being inactive which is why I'm not applying for anything.

Plus I always flop in them so no
I think the one I've done the best in was Revolution and even then I finished like 8th place (which was pretty decent given there were like 20 players and I made Jury)

TiBB Big Brother is a mammoth task to get sorted out, as most games are. The game itself has a reputation already and trying to make sure that it lives up to that while trying to make sure it's fresh and exciting. This upcoming series is the 11th overall so something needs to make sure the interest is still there.
It's difficult to run games sometimes because a lot of members have played before and don't want to do it again. We all do try to make them as entertaining as possible so I apologise if that's not the case for TiBB BB.
