The two people being blamed for Sunday's embarrassing Oscars Fail definitely won't be getting an invite to next year's ceremony.

Three days after Best Picture was mistakenly given to La La LandLa La Land rather than actual winner Moonlight, Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs confirmed to The AP that Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz - who both represented Oscars accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers - will never work for the Oscars again.

Boone also said that The Academy is still evaluating whether it will continue its business relationship with PricewaterhouseCoopers, despite partnering on the Oscars for the last 83 years.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has blamed the fiasco on "human error", explaining earlier this week that its representatives were responsible for both the actual winners' envelopes as well as a back-up pile.

As Beatty – the night's final presenter – entered the Oscars stage, he was accidentally handed a Best Actress envelope from that back-up pile by accountant Brian Cullinan instead of the one meant for Best Picture.

The fallout has been tumultuous for The Academy over the last several days as it faces criticism from all sides. A public apology from the Oscars organiser released late Monday has done little to quiet the controversy.

"We apologise to the entire cast and crew of La La Land and Moonlight, whose experience was profoundly altered by this error," the Academy said in its statement.

"We salute the tremendous grace they displayed under the circumstances. To all involved — including our presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, the filmmakers, and our fans watching worldwide — we apologise.

One person unsatisfied by the apology was Warren Beatty, who along with Bonnie and Clyde co-star Faye Dunaway erroneously announced La La Land as 2017's Best Picture.

"Rather than for me to respond to questions from the press about the Academy ceremony, I feel it would be more appropriate for the president of the Academy, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, to publicly clarify what happened as soon as possible," Beatty said in his own statement.

On top of the Best Picture mess, The Academy also publicly apologised on Wednesday for accidentally including a photo of the very-much-alive Australian film producer Jan Chapman instead of late costume designer Janet Patterson.

I didn't watched the Oscars but I heard there was some "scandal" and while looking for it I found a bigger one than the envelope mix up. Apparently Casey Affleck sexually harassed two members of the film crew on some other film and settled out of court and Brie Larson refused to clap when he won the best oscar award, that was all kept very hush hush

because he settled out of court so it didn't have to be, one of the women quit her job before filming ended because of it, that's pretty telling when you're working with two big actors like him and Joaquin Phoenix, it could have been great for her career so something must have happened, don't you think?

It was a sexual harassment in the work place case though not a sexual assault case so that would be dealt with through court which it was :shrug: Do you not think it's odd that one of the women quit..twice during filming? That could have been (and maybe still is) detrimental to her career
