Now this sounds amazing. When Blind Date finally returns to our screens, there will be at least one major difference.

For the first time in the show's history, LGBT contestants will be looking for love.

This new information comes from BuzzFeed News, which says that a member of the production company behind the revamp confirmed the news.

And not only that, but it looks like the Blind Date revival will make an effort for diversity.

The employee told BuzzFeed News that they were "in need of people from all sorts of different backgrounds".

One of the casting producers added: "Blind Date is for everyone."

There's been a lot of speculation on who could be filling Cilla Black's shoes when Blind Date makes its Channel 5 debut (moving from the show's original channel ITV), hopefully later this year.

One person is Vicky Pattison, who seems pretty keen on taking the presenting gig.

Holly Willoughby has ruled herself out, though, explaining that she is exclusively signed with ITV.

Olly Murs, Georgia May Foote, Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, and even Kylie Minogue have also been rumoured as possible presenters.

Blind Date is planned for Friday nights, but one former viewer who won't be tuning in when the revamp launches is Christopher Biggins, who called the revival "very depressing".

I mean do they have to announce it as a special thing when pretty much all dating shows already have LGBT people on

I don't know how this is a 'mess' but not surprised with that comment.

It's 2017, every dating show should do something for gays and lesbians. it annoys me that every dating show such as take me out, meet the parents is only for straight people.

The gays and lesbians only have apps, and they are people out there who don't do 'meet up for sex' and stuff.

Can't wait for the trashy wannabe gays they choose to be on the show
