Professor Stephen Hawking has called for Jeremy Corbyn to stand down as Labour leader, claiming he is a "disaster" for the party.

The Labour-backing physicist said he would vote for Mr Corbyn and that he approves of many of his policies but he believes he should quit "for the sake of the party".

"I regard Corbyn as a disaster," the Cambridge University academic told The Times.

"His heart is in the right place and many of his policies are sound, but he has allowed himself to be portrayed as a left-wing extremist.

"I think he should step down for the sake of the party."

I would say Mr Hawking has been taken out of context he is a disaster for new labour yes, but come on how can a party leader with sound policies and a heart in the right place be described as a 'disaster'?
It makes no sense...And this is a clever guy.

You can have both those things and still be incompetent as a leader, that's what Hawking is saying and most people who have insight into the inner workings of Corbyn's administration will tell you the same thing

Who has this insight?...

Oh so anyone who has rubbish policies and a corrupt heart would be better placed to be the leader of a party who's ethos is to champion the rights of the common man?... That logic is beyond fuzzy.
