Piss poor squadI think it's exciting.

We're in a new era now, we need a new team to emerge, and the way to find it, is to give players the platform to show what they can do.

I think players like Stones, Shaw, Dier and Barkley are all young and ready to become the main guys of the team now. While in Alli and Rashford, we could have a couple of World class superstars on our hands there.

Since the end of the Golden generation of Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Cole, Owen, Neville and Rooney, we've just been looking for the next generation to take off, and these young guns might just be the generation we've been waiting for.

a new era isnt recalling old playersYou need one or two old heads, because what the old heads cant do in running and energy, they bring experience, a voice and know-how. It's good for a team to have a good blend of everything.

I wouldn't also read too much into Defoe, I expect injury's to other players is why he's there, but he won't be in the long term plans.
