What is everyones opinion of glamour modelling, as an occupation?

A lot of people say that the girls who do it are slags, sluts, prostitutes etc, which I personally think is a pathetic view.

I dont think its fair that glamour models get labelled that easily. I think even Page 3 is an occupation, and is no differne to working in an office. Both you get paid, and both are jobs.

What are your opinions?

I personally wouldn't do it myself, but in the futute. Who knows..
It's easy money, and these girls enjoy it, what's wrong with that?

Glamour modelling gives these girls confidence, and I think that's great!

They do it to earn a living - who am I to judge them!

They are very attractive women and men who usually have amazing bodies so why not use that to make some money, I know if I looked as hot as some of them I would consider it :cheer2:

Doesn't bother me. A few glamour models have been over exposed in the press though and given them a reputation for being airheads.

I agree with Chris. It's terrible that the girls are sometimes labeled as easy but that because of the stigma involved in posing nude. Most young female celebrities do a shoot at some point in their career and Magazines like FHM are quite tastefully done anyway. Personally, I don't see a problem and I'd never discourage a young woman from doing a photo shoot.

You forget, they would not do it if there were not a market for it. If you want to criticise those who supply, how about those who indulge.

Thanks for pointing that out. Even with that your post still doesn't really make sense.

It's like saying if you want to criticise gambling how about criticising gamblers.

I do, but that is a bit off of topic

My point was that if people did not want to view this material, then by the laws of supply and demand, they would not be pursuing such a career.

I think glamour modelling is OK to be honest, all the shoots are done in an acceptable way, the girls are made to feel comfortable and at the end of the day (in most cases) it's done by professionals. And a lot of girls these days want to do this - it gets you admiration and fame in many cases as well. I don't think glamour models are sluts - that's a bit unfair to say. You can have sluts who aren't glamour models and vice versa! That's a really silly view. I don't really think it's the same as working in an office exactly, but it is still a job after all!

Like some other people in the thread mentioned, if I was hot and comfortable in my own skin, why not? That's what they're doing anyway, and I think it's great that these attractive people feel confident enough to do it.

In all seriousness, I don't think there's anything wrong with any of these jobs. The people who do them are adults and are perfectly capable of making their own decisions. If that's the path they choose, then it's up to them.

If it offends people to look at it then don't look at it! Nobody is forcing people to look at pictures or videos of naked women. I find the holier-than-thou attitude of those who complain about these things to be a bit hypocritical to be honest. I doubt anyone can say they have led a squeaky clean life.

Nobody has the right to pass judgement on others, especially over something as trivial as a career choice.

I think half of glamour models are hard working people and the other half see it as a quick way to fame. If they have fantastic bodies then sure show them off if they are comfortable with that and the fact that their families and friends will also view them in newspapers. For me it is how they act outside that job is how "girls" view them....if they sleep around like Jodie Marsh has then sure she is going to get labelled as trashy etc.

Looking at Jordan as another example I think she has earnt alot of respect from "girls" since settling down and having a family and appearing on a reality show and gained alot of support from both sexes.

Nothing wrong with glamour modelling. There is a lot wrong in sitting in judgment on those that do it...To please or entertain others no matter what their tast is not wrong.

What is morality. That depends on what you believe in. The religious invent one so called morality after another and then expect others to follow their self created beliefs and if not they will scream out and get their knickers in a twist over much ado about nothing..

Humans are sexual creatures like any other creature. That is perfectly normal. Those that model and those that view are perfectly normal balanced people. More than I can say for prudish attitudes where people stifle there natural instincts.....

I personally don't have a problem with it. How i would feel if I had a daughter and she wanted to get her babs out for the lads i don't know. I know i would be unhappy if she got her biff out.

I can't stand glamour models. They are so vulgar and cheap. And they are rarely naturally pretty - just caked in 10 inches of makeup. Just look at Jordan, she always looks a state. I don't know how anyone could find that attractive. Glamour models don't have real beauty, high fashion models do.

I have no issues with it. A friend of mine has a sister who is a glamour model. People are always surprised to find out that she is very witty, feisty and intelligent as well. I just think - who are we to judge?

Glamour models are second rate models - everyone knows that. Girls that either aren't pretty enough, tall enough, or classy enough (don't have the right look) end up as glamour models.

I also think that girls that want to be glamour models are either insecure, attention seeking people who need their confidence boosted by male attention, are not very bright and have few other options and/or are too lazy to do a normal job and want a quick easy route to fame and money.

This is 2009. Women can pretty much do as they please. If a woman wants to earn her living from glamour modelling and she's happy to do it, good for her. Similarly, if a woman wants to be in porn, good for her. So long as the women are happy to do it and are not coerced into it, then it's no one else's business to pass judgement. What's more, there are lots of women in the glamour and porn industries who are photographers, editors, producers, directors etc. The days when women just stood in front of the camera for the gratification of men, days when men ran the glamour and porn industries and women weren't in control of their own career, are over.

Well you think wrong. They both drive new (09) cars and own their own flats outright. Believe me, they LOVE the attention, and they get a lot of it.

However, you obviously feel well-placed up there on the moral highground to think you know my family better than I do, so this conversation is over.

Glamour models don't have real beauty, high fashion models do.
I know this thread is two years old but I have to say something about this.

Glamour may be "vulgar" and "cheap", but they have healthier bodies than these high fashion models on the catwalks. None of them are pretty. I don't look up to them with envy, I look up to them with disgust and pity. They starve themselves for this industry. Glamour models have to look like women because that is what men really want.

I'd rather see healthy looking women with their tits out on the top shelf than emaciated women on the catwalk.
