Looks good. I didn't know Mike from Stranger Things is in this.

My main thing about this is seeing how Pennywise is portrayed and this trailer doesn't really give us much to go on in that regard so I'm still reserving judgement. I hope he retains that affable-on-the-surface aspect that made the Tim Curry portrayal so unsettling rather than being a stock obviously evil clown the whole time.

And I assume the projector scene is a reworking of the photo album scene. That was always my favourite part and I don't see this version of it being quite as effective but I'm definitely interested to see it in full and see how it works.

It's one of a very few films I actually feel motivated to go and watch this year tbh.

So are they making two movies or have they just cut out the part where they're adults, and made the whole thing the kids part?

The trailer is creepy and the right tone for IT, but :joker: @ the 2:16 meme in the comments.

I quite liked the original because with most Stephen King book to film (or TV movie in this case) adaptations, they come across authentically close to real life horror stories. Many horror films in modern-cinema rely on too much gore and other genre codes.

I was really wary about this remake tbh, I love the original even though its a made for tv movie and I read the book when I was a teenager and it terrified me

Saying that after seeing the trailer I'm looking forward to it, looks like they've done a good job with it, I'm thinking they are going to release 2 and this first one is just them as kids

Yeah, they're planning something like that I think. If I remember right the plan is to make this one a stand alone film in case it bombs but leave it open for the adaptation of second half of the book if it does well.
