Thought this section (and the BB section as a whole) needed a bit of a revival so I'll contribute this thread to aid that!

I have watched drips and drabs of every BBCAN season but besides BBCAN4, I haven't watched any in full.

I've just started BBCAN1. I'm shocked that it feels quite old despite only airing in 2013.

I watched the first episode of season 1 the other day and I know what you mean about it feeling old even though it only aired in like 2013

It's kind of understandable that it would feel a little dated after four years. Even comparing BBUK1 and BBUK5, the differences are major. Although I think BBUK changed more whilst it was evolving in its early years than BBCan has.

The production isn't that slick this series in terms of mistakes and awkward pauses and stuff in live shows but I loved the rigging for Suzette. I'm so happy they intervened so Tom and the other boys couldn't steamroll to the end. I also read that they take Emmett's HOH off him next week that he won in the bee comp for 'rule breaks' which :love:

I personally think BBCAN2 is the best season, and the cast of BBCAN3 is truly brilliant also.

2 > 3 > 1 > 4

For me.
4 was good/average for Nikki mainly, [who was brilliant] - but still not bad..

5 Is too early to judge, its started off really entertaining and a really good mix of characters, however its declining rapidly now with the one sidedness and the exits of Cass and Gary [The two best returning vets by far] - It's still salvageable.

BBCAN is really consistent though, they dont have any 'bad' or 'terrible' seasons that I would say BBUSA has [9/12/14/16/18].

Without Nikki 4 would be one of the worst RTV seasons of all time, there was genuinely not one good thing that happened event-wise other than Nikki being voted in

The first half of 3 is trash but everything seems to go perfectly in the second half

1 & 2 are amazing from start to finish and often interchangeable as to which is the best

-Cassandra somehow managing to flip the house against Joel
-Joel's Carly Rae Jepsen sing-a-long
-Nikki and the puppy
-Nikki's inability to pronounce Raul's name properly
-Nikki's inability to pronounce "HoH" properly
-Nikki's slop meltdown
-Nikki's vodka meltdown
-That gif of Nikki listening in to a conversation through a door then running away
-Christine winning a completely unnecessary veto just because she wanted some new furniture
-"I've waited eighteen years to say that I vote to evict Paige"
-Jared being evicted because he didn't want to get a haircut
-The disaster that was the baseball competition
-Veronica
-Loveita winning two HoHs in the first three weeks, and making a complete mess of them both

Big Brother 3 was pretty much twist after twist... But I think the fact that the twists only really benefited the well-liked players is why they are (and therefore the season is) so well-received.

BB4 isn't that bad tbqh, I watched it last month and yes it isn't riveting viewing or anything but I think it holds it's own. Some weeks are actually really entertaining (see: Cass of Household, Raul of Household) and then some others are a bit dull. I'd say it's pretty much on par with BB3 for me personally (I might even place it higher than 3 tbh, I did love 3 at the time but it takes a while to pick up and much like 4 is very up and down)

I think you're confused by what I meant by 'event-wise'

Moment-wise there were many things (Nikki's meltdowns, Loveita's fight with Jared, etc) - I'd class those as 'moments' not 'events'

Event-wise refers to results of HOH comps, nominations, veto winners, evictions, twists etc. and other than Nikki being voted in, Loveita winning two HOHs (which she butched tf out of btw) and Cass's dad winning her an HOH, what other events turned out to be good?

Although Kelsey was your fave so I can see from your perspective why it would've been an enjoyable season, since everything seemed to work in her favour and against my faves :laugh:

I couldn't place Big Brother 4 high just because I absolutely detested the two housemates who made it the furthest in the game.

...that, and the fact that they all played the most awful games I've ever seen. (See: Anything Loveita did, Jared choosing to keep his hair rather than win £100,000, Raul's HOH, anything Nick & Phil did)

3 has one of the best alliances of all time in the fembots (Sarah/Brittnee/Naeha/Sindy) and Risha's naked jacuzzi/clocking Peter on the side show made her an iconic houseguest too, the fact that all the twists post-Jury benefitted Britnee and Sarah made the second half far superior to the first half, Jordan's blindside, Sindy's "black widow" vote, Britnee's comp wins, Britt's superpower, the messy triple eviction, Sarah's eventual win etc.

I'd much rather watch that than 4 which was dominated by Jared/Kelsey and the Brothers storylines, the fact that the Brothers won in the end is VILE

BBCan 4 is one of the most underrated seasons of Big Brother ever, while BB3 is vastly overrated. See this post I made last year:

I've summed it up over the last few pages but: consistently entertaining feeds, close votes for almost every eviction (there is nothing more dull than endless unanimous 'let's vote with the house' weeks), votes flipping mid-week and watching that play out rather than the eventual evictee not bothering to campaign, no real alliances until recently, a house divide from mid-season which we've not had for a long time, continuous power shifts (see: BB6 for why this makes a good season), one of the most pivotal endgames I can ever remember, a good mix of drama (so much of it compared to last year's awful love-fest) and hilarity, dramatic ceremonies, no endless convoluted messy twists, a final eight whom were all well developed characters contributing to the storyline (compared with BB3's utter irrelevancies in Ashleigh, Pilar, Willow, Zach...Bobby if you want to extend to F10 :umm2:) and actual Nikki ****ing Grahame on the live feeds!

Conversely I don't get what's so bad about this season? Like, Loveita isn't the be all and end all of a season. I feel like people haven't watched enough of the feeds to appreciate what's gone down because they have been consistently amazing all throughout...but then again there's been episode after episode which have been fantastic and far better than BB3's so I still don't get the hate :shrug:

That's pretty much it, and don't get me wrong I did love Sarah but the twists were messy and too frequent, and plus like I said the majority of the cast were ****ing irrelevant and so nothing happened? 4 is a legitimately great season of Big Brother with a sadly terrible end, 3 is just 'good'

For what it's worth, 2 > 4 > 1 > 3 > 5 (verging on a 'bad' season for the first time in BBCan history)

Tbh I've enjoyed BB5 more than I did BB4 judging by the first four weeks :worry: Like I understand the boot order has been tragic with Gary and (to a lesser extent) Cassandra being evicted but there's still a few people that I'm interested in that are still in the game whereas last year I cba to catch up after Loveita was evicted. Having said that, this season has a few show-ruiners which need to be culled immediately before they do anymore damage. This season still has potential so I'll wait until after it has finished to judge fully.

BBUS18, BBOTT & BBCAN5 has helped me realize how good BBCAN4 actually was (not that I ever really had any problems with it at all but I might've underrated it a bit as well in the moment). BBCAN4's live feeds were always great and therefore the episodes/storylines had a lot going on every week too.

Oh and the brothers won in the end which makes their journey through the season even more HILARIOUS. :joker: :clap1:

I really enjoyed the season. Gary, Talla, Topaz and Suzette are among my favourite houseguests ever worldwide. :love: It's a shame about the final result since I wanted Gary to win way more than Jillian - and I'm undecided on whether Topaz did it for attention thinking that they'd do a recount and Gary would still win anyway or whether it was a genuine mistake. I'm leaning more towards genuine mistake but we'll never know.

The only reason Nedas mean spirited attitude and vindictive ways were overlooked in season 2 was because it was aimed at disliked house guests like Sab and Kenny. I'm glad she returned to BBCAN5 to show herself again for who she was, and this time ruining her whole reputation in the process.

Sabrina got better when all of the trash people she was working with left. Her and Adel's feud is a proper scream and I liked how it turned light hearted in Adel's last few days in the house. I know but as we all can tell BBCAN alumini meet up constantly and judging by pictures from social media and Google - Neda would have gotten to know Gary well since 2014 and therefore have been able to decide for herself whether she was going to work with him in the inevitable situation when they were both houseguests in the same season and I guess she decided she wasn't going to.

I don't think Neda even hated Gary in BB5. She seemed to target him because he happened to be a strong player who wasn't in her alliance. She was civil to him in her goodbye message during his eviction.

The thing with Cass, on the other hand, seemed more personal which is funny given they seemed to get along well pre-season.

She still trashed Gary tonnes and treated him poorly. I have no issue with the fact she was on opposite sides, I have an issue with how she talks of people aside from the game and her maliciousness. If she was at least funny with it like Ika it could be entertaining, but it's just boring and mean.

I actually really liked the people she was aligned with both times. I found her to be the worst (weakest link) of both of her alliances. :p But BBCAN5 Neda > BBCAN2 Neda :fan:

I think I prefer season 1 to season 2 but it was still a thoroughly enjoyable season and the Sloppy Seconds were an amazing alliance :love: Sabrina grew a lot in my estimations and I think she was a scream from the TV meltdown onwards. Ika, Heather and Neda are among my all time favourites :love:

This is literally Bruno though?!?!?!
I don't get why people find Bruno so boring.. I mean I can see why people would think that but it's overstated and over-exaggerated. He makes wild moves and decisions in the game (one of the people most involved in blindsiding Jordan, using a veto on ZACH in the triple eviction, he gets in arguments, he gets involved in a lot of passionate/intense talks). He's not just some monotone gamebot with no personality which I'm not saying Neda is exactly but she is an extreme gamebot. Bruno's also not 100% talking game when he's in the house. He's had a lot of funny conversations with Karen and others throughout the season. He's chill about it all (rather than obsessing over things/people in the game) with an occasional temper - but that's really not boring IMO.

I forgot how tragic the early boot order is for this season. Risha, Sindy and Naeha out consecutively in the first 15 days :( Not looking forward to watching Naeha's exit again (I know people will have a problem with me liking her but I just love her so idc). The only consolation is that Sindy returns to cause havoc later down the line :love:

I still find it a mess that Naeha was targeted by Graig and that lot because she apparently looks like Neda (i still don't see that)

She doesn't remind me of Neda but she does remind a lot of people of her (even BBCAN alumni presumably since I think quite a few people this series have said something along the lines of 'They should have gotten Naeha instead of Neda for this season'). It's probably to do with the fact they share similar names and they're both ~great players~ (everybody in the house said they had to get rid of Naeha because she was the best player in the cast).
