IF indeed it was the rebels / terrorists / miscellaneous who unleashed a chemical weapon, then it is extremely likely that they did so with the prior knowledge of, in collusion with, or possibly even suggested by, an interested third party such as the United States.

I'm a lot more awake than you realize, TS. I don't know everything about the world but I know that when it comes to war that governments and media are VERY likely to lie. And perhaps most wars in history are started over lies. War means business. War means opportunity to enhance government power both over seas and domestically. People will know that I am a Trump supporter but I will turn on him so fast if he continues to provoke war.

Youre probably right but 90% of US news is controlled by just 6 corporations...General electric, disney, cbs, time warner, news corporation and viacom
its whats known as the illusion of choice, where the 50 odd corporations in the 1980s were bought out and consolidated into just 6. thats just 6 bosses controlling the news in america, frightening

People can shout 'propaganda' all they want. The question is, who's propaganda do we believe?
What we do know is, the West took out Hussein and Gaddafi under a pretext of lies. They want to take out Assad before taking out Khamenei but those pesky Russians are making things tough this time round.
I don't believe for a moment that Western interest is about overthrowing ISIS because there's a hundred gorilla groups just as ruthless as them and I don't believe they want to see the fall of Assad because he's an evil dictator (he's only evil if you only pay attention to western news). If there's no evidence of chemical weapons being used, 'beyond a reaonsable doubt', there is definitely a preponderance of evidence. Victims being treated for what could only have been a chemical attack, and bodies showing unique symptons of exposure to chemical weapons. Leaders in the Middle East are not adverse to using chemical weapons; Saddam's chemical attach on the Kurds at Halabja... for instance.

How can the Syrian government be held accountable for using chemical weapons when, so far, there's not a scrap of evidence. All evidence so far is pointing at Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists, so why would the U.S jump in before an agreed investigation from none interested parties outside of Syria?
From where I'm sitting, it looks like the U.S goal is to weaken the ability of the Syrian Arab Army and its allies to fight terrorism. If that's the case, America has just encouraged mass terrorism with chemical weapons.

One thing that's been proven over and over again is, you can't fight gorilla warfare like you can a conventional war because there's no clear supply line. ISIS is so entrenched in multiple areas that they are virtually impossible to pin down.
Perhaps we should ask ourselves, why does ISIS exist and why is ISIS targetting the West? Should we just get out and stop trying to police that part of the world for our own material gain? We need to remind ourselves that just as ISIS is evil to us, the West is equally as evil to ISIS.

And why are they entrenched in multiple areas - it's all part of their plan. Hence the battle the West now have with the enemy within. We only have ourselves to blame for that in my opinion. Finally, hopefully, the West are waking up to that.

Of course its part of their plan. They know the terrain, their enemies don't. I mean, good grief, the American army don't even know who to target because ISIS soldiers can look like civilians; all they can do is rely on tip-offs and interception but neither of those things are reliable
Like you say, its the same in the West. These lone wolves come out of nowhere. They can walk among us without creating suspicion

They are all fighting for their own cause and many of these fractions are as equally as bad as ISIS... meaning they lop off peoples heads, rape and imprison women and murder babies in arms. The Shiites are as bad as the Sunnis who are as bad as the Wahabis and in the middle of all that mess are people who just want to live peaceful lives or get out of that hell hole.
What am I trying to convince people of? I think I have a fairly good understanding of what started this mess. I know the western governments were no innocents in this and I don't believe for an iota of a second that our governments are the good Samaritans that are trying to resolve this mess.

We can't paint this as black and white like western media have. Its been grossly simplified into Assad EVIL... The west and Saudi GOOD; Its a lot more complex than that.
A percentage of Syrians hate Assad and another percentage see him as the great captain of the ship. Assad's army are killing its opponent's, just as the opponent's are killing people who support Assad. The Shiite's love their president, the Sunni's hate him and want a Sunni government installed, which would be equally dictatorial.
America and the West took it upon themselves to sit on Syrias doorstep and support Assad's opponent's but first they had to paint Assad as the evil tyrant who gasses children (there is no proof to back this claim) They did the same in Iraq and Libya and look at whats risen from the ashes there.
If you read Syrian public opinion of the goings on in Syria, its frightening because the hatred towards the West is huge. Even those who the Americans are presently supporting make comments like, "first we will kill Assad and then we will kill America".
Don't get me wrong. I believe Assad is a dictator, just as Saddam and Khamenei of Iran and Salman Al Saud of Saudi are dictators, but every time we topple a dictator, something much worse takes its place and entire nations become unstable and brutally tribal and we get refugees en-mass arriving on our shores.
So Assad may be bad according to the western government and Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is good... think about that and you will understand that this has nothing to do with dictatorship and all to do with pipe lines and the price of future oil.

Does anyone here think that Assad has been painted as "evil", but that he actually isn't? If anyone's in doubt and you don't trust the press... do some digging yourself, read some of the stories by actual Syrians and see what they've lost. But really, I have faith that the vast majority are not sheep, but thinking beings who can sniff out a lie as well as the next person.

I agree. People are capable of sorting the wheat from the chaff, it isn't just a select few. People make their own decisions about what's true and what's not. The UK's Department for International Development has spent over £1bn on aid for Syria and is one of the largest, if not the largest, provider of aid to Jordan which has massive refugee camps. That's not been in the news... it's all about the arms and the fighting. But I know about it. And it's true!

ISIS - Insane Small Ignorant Scum
Unfortunately the world is full of power-mad little men all trying to be big fish in their own small ponds. ISIS are deluded enough and stupid enough to believe they can take on the whole world, getting their tentacles into every country on earth it seems. They are the most deluded of all in all their ignorance.

There are at least ten well known armies and militia groups fighting in Syria.
The Syrian army backed by Russia and Iran and has the support of the Shiites and Christians in Syria who view Assad’s army as their only real protectorate.
Turkey, who’s motives aren’t very transparent
Iran/ Hezbollah who are aligned with Assad
The Free Syrian Army who are anti-Assad and were supported by America until they started handing their weapons over to ISIS
The YPG who want a Kurdish state and who have reliably allied themselves with America and continue to fight against ISIS
ISIS (formally al-Qaeda in Iraq) Who commits acts of genocide against Shiites, Christians, and Yezidis.
The Nursa Front, better known as al-Qaeda who are now accepting mass desertions from ISIS and like ISIS, are fighting against Shiites and Christians which includes the Syrian Army.
The Christian Militias who fight against jihadist groups including ISIS. They are supported by Russia and Assad but have had no U.S support so far.
And America who was sending weapons to The Free Syrian Army and is still working with the YPG against ISIS but more recently has concentrated its efforts on toppling Assad.
Assad is the only Arab group protecting Christians and yet surprise, surprise, he’s gassing children, just like Hussain did. Remember though none of this has ever been verified.
Edited to add Russia!
This all started about ten years ago when Assad screwed up the contract that was set to build a gas pipline from Qatar, through Syria down to the Med where it would supply Europe. Instead of strengthening the US and European economy, Assads broken contract was about to strengthen Russia. The same thing happened to the Ukraine when it refused to sign up to the EU.
Russia needs to control the Syrian pipeline and the West need to control the Syrian pipeline but what both the Russians and the West overlooked was how many forces are at play in Syria.
For those who rule over us, its all about oil, for us, the western civilians, its about having to live beside the fallout and for Syrian civilians its about having to live with all this extremism over lineage and interpretation of the Koran.
The West started this fight and now the West is blaming all the guys who turned up after.
I don't believe for a moment that the western pigs at the top are concerned about chemical weapons. This is all about occupation to control the flow of gas and has nothing to do with brokering peace or any other crap like that.

Laughing aside; it makes bringing them over here a lot more complex than just looking out for ISIS insurgents. The FSA and NURSA Front are both revolutionary armies. ISIS are just better at spreading propaganda, especially when it comes to the West. If NF or FSA were to claim a terrorist attack over here, the government, for the sake of public knowledge, would tell us it was ISIS and ISIS would be happy with stealing that brownie point.

Its ironic that in response to me quoting your "i know you are but what am i" catchphrase, you replied with "i know you are but what am i"
Why must i explain everything

I'ts an analogy that demonstrates a particular mindset and very hostile bias against the West. It spoke volumes. Seriously, if you think it doesn't negate anything you're the deluded one.
I wish I had blind faith and scales for eyes... Unfortunately I don't.
Do you think it makes you more patriotic to close your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears and berate others for daring to question the decisions of the UK government?
It doesn't, it makes you for me less, as how we are perceived by the rest of the world should be something to be proud of... I'm not proud, every day I'm getting less proud.
The British are resilient, good humoured and fair... recent govts are not, they do not represent us.
We are power hungry bomb peddlers with our noses in the trough of war!
You can warble 'god save the queen' and wave your little flag, but without a degree of acknowledgement it's a total sham.

Sit there with my fingers in my ears, really, you do go off on a tangent. I question the UK government on many occasions and have pretty much detested some of our priministers i.e. Blair and Cameron and many of their policies over the years, like most, but it seems to me you are blaming May et al for Brexit when they are only doing what the the people wanted. They are therefore representing many of us, just not everyone - that's what public votes are about, you can't please everyone all of the time.
Let's get things in perspective shall we it's not the West that are the warmongers it's the Middle East - they are always at war with someone. There are times when the West have to intervene - whatever you personal reasons on why they do so. What's the point in having rules about the use of chemical weapons if, when abused, nothing is done - can you imagine what would happen if these idiots had nuclear power. Someone has to act. Are you happy for the world to stand by and do nothing when such atrocities are committed. Beggars belief.
Sounds to me that, despite your constant whining about the West doing little to help these countries, when it comes to them doing something you fear may actually affect you you sing a different tune. Let's just stand by with our fingers in our ears then shall we. Or is it because it's Trump that made that decision that you can't digest.
For the record I am not a supporter of royalty and have often questioned their value to Britain as a whole. I can see pros and cons but feel they get too much money and should pay their own way more - so once again more of your ridiculous assumptions.

I think you have to ask yourself if any country did not plan to use chemical weapons why would they have them. Assad has admitted he had them. I think it is win at any cost with this regime and they think they are beyond the law with Russia backing them with their arms and veto.

I don't think you can say 100% without any investigation or evidence.Yes Assad has chemical weapons but then so do the 'rebels' supposedly.
The Russians keep calling for an investigation but the US seem reluctant.
I wouldn't like to commit either way.
Both sides have track records for lying.
It could've been a stockpile that got bombed or it could've been dropped by Assad or it could've been one of these many terror groups who call themselves rebels that we back.Who knows?

We all can only speculate because no one of us really knows the truth because of propaganda, we just don't know what to believe but as I see it Assad is an evil man who thought nothing of having thousands killed who were protesting against his regime so why wouldn't we believe he is responsible for the gassing off all those people. Back in 2013 he allegedly used chemical weapons so he could have been responsible for this gassing too. He is a very angry man and I believe he wants all those against him to be killed.

I'm inclined to agree. Not because I think it's "none of our business" or that the west hasn't CAUSED a lot of the problems in the middle east... but simply because we never, ever seem to make any of it any better. Always worse.

I agree.Let Islam slaughter itself. The only thing that's going to change that religion is evolution and its not happening any time soon.
When they've killed each other for long enough they'll start to learn.

If there are rules about the use of chemical weapons why did we sell this country the very chemicals used in the weapon?... We have blood on our hands, you can remain as ignorant as you like, just don't expect everyone to.
