Hello forum,
I don't normally post things of a serious nature on the forum, i prefer to keep things light hearted but this one matter has really aggravated me.
I was in a beer garden yesterday with my pal Alun when he told me that his gay brother and his gay brother's partner were enjoying lunch in a gay bar last week. The two shared a harmless kiss as they waited for their food to arrive. Seconds later, a manager approached them and told them that that kind of behaviour in the bar was more suited to the evening and that it would be appreciated if they didn't do that during the day.
To my knowledge, the bar doubles up as a restaurant in the day where it attracts all sexualities and ages. The evening attracts mainly LGBT folk.
Shocked, Alun's brother asked what exactly it was that him and his partner were doing that was so inappropriate. The manager explained that although the bar was a gay bar, most customers are straight in the day. Alun's brother has a temper like Alun so he told the manager where to shove his burger and fries. He couldn't believe he had essentially been told to 'not make the straights feel uncomfortable' in a gay bar of all places!
He's not sure if a customer complained and requested the manager to speak to them, but either way Alun's brother is considering taking legal action. I don't want to name this bar or even the city in case legal proceedings take place , but i am ashamed that such a thing still happens, and in a gay bar of all places!
Rant over! What are your opinions on the matter?

I think public displays of affection are gross af for any gender or sexuality... but it does sound like the waiter took issue with the 'two men' aspect, and not the 'pda in general' aspect, which I think is out of order and should see him or the business fined imo.

I kind of agree, I mean I don't mind PDAs as long as they're just PDAs and not public displays of fore play

I think gays should keep their antics for the bedroom.
Mates in the streets, hot boning in the sheets.

I don't like PDA's either but if you're in public you just have to accept that you might see people do things like that, unless what they're doing is OTT sexually or illegal or anything you don't have the right to dictate how other people in public places should behave even if you don't like what they're doing. So that plus the whole 'you can only be gay in the evening when the straights aren't here' thing :umm2: the manager of the bar/restaurant was totally out of order imo. I wonder though if he did anything wrong legally? From the sounds of it he didn't throw them out or refuse service? So it'd be interesting to know what happens with the legal action.

Unless it's a young pair of first loves (teens) or a peck on the cheek then no thanks, I wouldn't want putting off my food by people playing tonsil tennis.
Gay or straight.
I hate PDA but it's wrong to complain just because it's two men - especially when you've gone to a gay bar or work at a gay bar. I'd complain if it was anyone, mind.

Would you?
What would you consider to be PDAs? I'm surprised by how many people are offended by PDAs, maybe our ideas of PDAs are different though?

Really depends on the type of kiss and how long it went on for I guess, were they waiting along time for their food?
Oh I wouldn't actually complain in the sense of tell the manager. I just mean I'd be like 'Oh God look at them two how gross' to whoever I was with.
Kissing, touching, ear biting and stuff I'd class as PDA.

Like when i think of PDAs, I'd be thinking hand holding, maybe a peck type kiss or arms around eachother. That wouldn't bother me, infact i probably do those myself

I would have no problem with handholding or a hug, or a peck but full on kissing outside a club environment is not acceptable :nono:

From what I gathered they weren't having a snog . Just a quick kiss. But then again i wasn't there so i don't know. I know for one I wouldn't smack one on Margarets lips in public. But a peck is fine. R.

What does he think it is? You're straight in the morning and gay at night? Pathetic.

its what is missing from life - love - what ever kind of love ( ie with in proportion) should always be allowed.
for those offended by 2 men or 2 woman or man and woman showing this - tough.
maybe some poetry love from me on this matter.

The manager sounds over sensitive here.
It wouldn't bother me,I'd rather see showing of affection any day of the week,.rather than people bickering, arguing or even worse fighting.

I think it's more like a gradual progression. You wake up straight as an arrow, by lunchtime bi-curious, edging towards same sex relationships by dinner, and flamboyantly camp by midnight.

I personally don't mind PDA's within a reasonable limit. No tongue kissing or sticky fingers :nono:. If bodily fluids are getting involved it's gone too far and will almost certainly put me off my lasagne.
Couldn't care less if it's same sex couple or heteroses though.
I did once have the delight of seeing a guy getting quite blatantly wanked off under a coat by a girl in a bar once. It was only about 7pm and I was just enjoying a game of pool and some curly fries! I think they thought they were being subtle :joker:.
