I really, really hope that the Missing People Choir do NOT win this year's series, here's why:

1 They're using a massive sob story (possibly the biggest sob story ever) just to pull the heart strings of the audience and to get votes, which I think is completely unfair because the show is called Britain's Got TALENT, NOT "Britain's Got Sob Stories"

2 The bloody McCanns are involved. I've said it many times, Maddie is DEAD and will never be found seeing as no one has seen her in 10 years!! Kate and Gerry just need to accept this and disappear from the limelight. I cannot believe they actually sank this low to audition for a nationwide talent show!!!

3 They're a bloody choir and choirs are ridiculously overrated these days!! Any stupid choir like this would be enough to send me to sleep. The style of music is just depressing and outdated.

4 It is ridiculous when the public vote for acts based on sympathy and not their talents. This is totally unfair on the others who work so hard on their acts and for them to get beaten by an act who won based on their back story and not their talent is a complete farce!!

Any loyal BGT fan should vote for other acts that THEY genuinely think are talented and NOT those that pull their heart strings and get them all emotional!! Anyone who wants a proper, talented act to win BGT would BOYCOTT THE MISSING PEOPLE CHOIR!!!!

Does it qualify as a sob story? Its more just their way of life?

Like a sob story to me, is more going on to a dancing competition and bringing up something irrelevant like your dog dying etc
Whereas this group exists because of something emotional that they have in common, and this emotional thing is very relevant to their act

I do agree with point number 3, but I want to add a point number 5, in that they shouldnt win because singing acts in bgt is boring for me. dancing acts too. The final is always full of them, and i like the show for its diversity (no pun intended) in the earlier stages.

I take that back, they can win. That was brilliant.

They sent me straight to sleep. Duller than dishwater. It's quite sad that viewers will most likely vote for them based on their back story and not their act.

Other than their back story, there is nothing unique or interesting about them. They're just one of those depressing-sounding choirs that would send you to sleep in 10 seconds. The only reason why they are likely to win is because of sympathy votes which makes it very unfair for the talented acts who do NOT have a sob story.

Meh, people will always vote for others based on their attractiveness/personality etc.. why not their inspirational backstory?

Because the show is called Britain's Got TALENT and not "Britain's Got People With Sad Backstories" and having an "inspirational" backstory should not even b e considered a "talent".

I was moved, which is more than I can say for the kid who opened the show, so I guess I was more entertained by the choir than the kid so they deseved to go through over him imo

Well judge them on their talent then, and stop making their background an issue? Theyre very talented, and should go far in the competition because of this factor.

Tbh I agree with you that they shouldn't win as their not talented enough but I don't agree with #1 of your points as they're not using their sob story to get votes and nor are they exploiting their issues.

I actually find it quite refreshing that for once people are using a sob story on a show like this to good use by promoting the missing people of their lives as much as they can just in case someone comes forward.

It's got nothing to do with winning votes or gaining sympathy (although as a human being with ****ing feelings, come on you must have some sympathy if not admiration for these people)

BGT is one of the most popular shows on British telly and all their doing is using a choir to promote their charity with the intention of benefiting people's lives. Personally, I see nothing wrong with that.

I never wanted to lay in to them and felt they should have been exception because it was a great cause. And now:

Admittedly didn't think they'd have any hope but when you're that desperate to find a loved one you'll try anything. Great news

I think this was why they made the final it was for the publicity more than the singing, great result..13 though I wonder where he was
