['Super-Earth': New planet is 'best candidate' to support life beyond solar system
A US scientist says the
discovery of "Super-Earth" is
"the most exciting exoplanet
I've seen in the past decade".]
[The so-called "Super-Earth"
is 39 light years away,
outside the solar system, and,
like Earth, thought to be
around five billion years
old - long enough for life to have evolved.]

We need to fly up there, armed
and take it over

It would take an awfully long time seeing as we can't get anywhere near the speed of light:laugh:
Will.

I just Googled it.
It will take us 817,000 years to travel the 229 Trillion miles at 32,000mph which is as fast as a man made craft has ever flown.
Doh.
Your plan's out the window arista.
817,000 years away.
I'll get me shoes on.

Yes send a Army of 10 year old BOYS
Educated by Computers on board
Fully trained by the time they get there
and take control of OUR 2nd earth.
Their secret mission
Search and Destroy.

You would need a worm hole generator and a ship that can maneuver it.
Or a spaceship with a warp engine in it. Have you tried phoning the Vulcans? Maybe the new Spock will hook you up.

Nuclear-pulse propulsion, where a spaceship is propelled by exploding nuclear bombs is one technologies that could be used to reach the nearest stars, within, say a few hundred years.
The Americans actually started a project - called Project Orion - to study the possibilty of building a spacecraft like that in the 50s and 60s - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_(nuclear_propulsion) .

Arista the human race is destroying this planet and humans are on the whole disgusting, so leave that planet alone.
A human has just given 57 and half million for a diamond.
When over two thousound children are dying a day from drinking dirty water.

So they'll only be 817,010 when they get there! A flawless plan.

Nah. No gravity in space so you won't wear out the tread. One pair should last.

Earth is a super planet, just kill 99.9 percent of humans, leaving the ones that take only what they need. And show respect to the planet and there is no need to look at other planets.
When you think about it, in the films aliens come to earth because there own planet is dying!, its humans that will be the alians.

Sounds amazing, dangerous and a little futile i think. We're going to need to find a way to use quantum mechanics imo to get anywhere near being able to travel the distances involved.
This nuclear propulsion might be good for travel within our solar system i reckon.
