Hi, a friend of mine is looking for a black button that came off her skirt.:hehe:
It apparently pinged off and she can't find it. :joker:
Funny I know, but she looked and couldn't find anywhere that sold buttons in her area. I looked too and I live ten miles away and there were no sewing shops or button shops where I live either. :joker:
No one we know has a spare black button either. I am considering calling this Button-Gate. :p
So she is going to get some on Ebay. But there is a problem. What size button should she be looking for in mm?
Thanks! :hee:

How can anyone answer that question having never seen the button in the first place?

Well it's a black button for a skirt. Use your imagination. :p ;)

I don't think every skirt ever made has the same sized buttons

Could your friend go to a discount shop and buy a sewing kit? They usually have buttons in them

Haberdashery dept. in Boyes or similar shop.
If she can't get the exact same button then change them all if there are more than one on the skirt, or, simply change the size of the button opening to suite any black button she can find.

If there are more than one on the skirt all she needs to do is measure them to know what size in mm it is

Unless they have a pattern or style to them.
I did think of that.
Easy enough to find a charity shop that has black buttons on an item and swap them over, might be cheaper than eBay.

Thanks for all the advice. As I said, nothing in her area or mine that sells buttons, so she's going on Ebay and ask a seller for advice.
Sorry for this tedious topic. :P :D
Thanks for your help. :)

Dead right. It is scary. So much so Sharon has written to the company she bought the skirt from and asked them what size the buttons on.
And guess what she got a reply. They're sending two free buttons out.
This is awesome!!:dance::dance::cheer2:
