View Full Version : The Toilet Seat

I have a nephew who drives his mother crazy leaving the toilet seat up. When she complains he will say things like if men and women are equal a woman is as capable of putting it down as he is. It almost has become a rebellious game with him but I have noticed he also leaves the seat up when visiting me. His mum is really worried this is becoming the norm and that people he visits will think him badly mannered and rude. He's a young adult so not a child really.
Anyone have any thoughts about the toilet seat or advice for his mum?

Except, if he's the only one lifting it up, he should put it back down afterwards.

What? That people tidy and clean up after themselves? Yeah. Not sure what the gender numbers has to do with it.
You use something? You leave it as you found it when you're finished. A fairly simple thing.

But down is it's natural position.
Otherwise you'd have to put it down yourself for a poo.

Down is only the natural position after a poo.Not after a wee.Suppose three males go for a wee before the female. No pooing is needed at this time. Then up is the natural position.
The natural position is the position it spends most of its time.More wees are needed than poos so in my gaff UP is the natural position.

You can't make such an accurate assumption about anyone's bowel movements on any given day?
What if she rushes up there with diarrhoea, you're costing her precious seconds that may result in brown knickers.

I grew up in a house with 3 brothers and a dad so it was automatic to put the seat down when I went in the loo

I find if you take the seat off (especially midwinter) it does the trick.
Those little..and not so little botties on the cold loo has them begging for the seat back and promising to put it down after them.:joker:

I've never got why this is such an issue.
There is no right or wrong way to have it.
Very snobbish behaviour indeed.

Well I have to explain from a ladies point of view that it it can be quite disastrous to get up in the night a bit fuzzy and sleepy and literally fall in the toilet. :fist:
Tell the mum to piss on his pillow.

I live in a house with 3 males.....it takes .5 seconds to put the seat down if I go after them. It's not worth the constant nagging...
I dont fully understand this.
Should.men put the sit on bit down after lifting it for a piddle?
Cause if its down when mem go in then the womans just left it sitting knowing full well that twat over there is going to be next in.
Fyi...that seat covering is pointless no matter how much material you shove on it.

Anyway, my habit when I was a kid was not bothering to lift the lid and at random intervals throughout the day you'd hear the ladies of the household scream out as their buttocks hit a puddle of pee.

Glue something to the cistern so the seat won't stay up, and he'll have to hold it up have a wee then put it down :)

Genuine question: Why do people need to put it up in the first place? Do most males really struggle with their aim that much? I get it straight down the middle into the water with pinpoint accuracy so... never bother putting it up in the first place :joker:.
