A flash fire at a daycare in Houston, Texas injured 12 children on Tuesday.
A science project gone wrong left 11 children burned and one trampled, according to KHOU.
The fire occurred at the Yellow School at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in the Bunker Hill suburb of Houston.
The supervised experiment took place' outdoors, there was an accident, it involved flames and some children were exposed to the flames,' Bob Giles said, an employee with Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
Of the 11 burn victims, six children were taken to the hospital and five children had less serious burns treated on site.
All of the children involved in the accident were ages 3 and 4, an official from the Village Fire Department said.
One of those injured was Randy Keeney's 3-year-old son.
'I know there were some burns and they want to see if he inhaled any chemicals,' Keeney said.
The Air 11 helicopter captured footage of an adult male running out of the building with a little girl wrapped in a yellow blanket.
Paramedics and police responded to the daycare when the accident occured.
Neither authorities nor Yellow School employees could confirm whether safety equipment was used during the experiment.
'I don't want to make any pre-dispositions that anything went wrong here, it was an unfortunate accident,' Fire Chief David Foster said.
