They also rejected a bid triggering Suarez's release clause the summer before. As much as I hate we let him go it's understandable why we did at the time, we knew full well that his heart was set on a move to Barcelona and he was constantly bad press for the club, and although it was only a couple of seasons ago the kind of fee we got for him was fairly rare back then.

The day's of loyalty in football have long gone. I think if your a home grown player or from the area then you would be more loyal. Money & trophies talk now & when Barcelona or Real Madrid come knocking then it's difficult to compete with. If there is a good chance he will go then Liverpool should take the money now so they have enough time to get another player in.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Manchester United re-sign striker on one-year deal

Manchester United have re-signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a one-year contract.

The 35-year-old former Sweden striker made 46 appearances and scored 28 goals for United last season.

Ibrahimovic was released by the club in June after his season was ended prematurely by a knee injury, but he is expected to be fit again in December.

"After his contribution last season he deserves our trust and we will be patient waiting for him to return," said manager Jose Mourinho.

Ibrahimovic, who initially joined the Red Devils on free transfer in July 2016, had been recuperating at United's training ground after having knee surgery.

Mourinho added: "We are delighted Zlatan is on the road to recovery and we are equally delighted to have his ambition and experience back with us.

"I have no doubt that he will be important in the second part of the season."

Ibrahimovic said: "I am back to finish what I started. It was always mine and the club's intention for me to stay.

"I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready. I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch."

Even worse the fact he doesn't want any depth in order to keep bang average players happy. UnbelievableNo idea why he said that cuz its been a typical Wenger window for me. Its another of his nonsensical statements - like he wanted the transfer window to be shorter. If we lose to Liverpool on Sunday - and I think we will - I expect Wenger to go into panic buy mode.

Locke.
28-08-2017, 10:02 AM
Lemar would be a smart signing. We look incredible going forward now but if one of Mane/Salah get injured then suddenly we look quite weak out wide. Having the 3 of them competing for those 2 spots would be great.

Cant blame Ox TBH. I think Wenger was only putting him in the side to try and get him to stay when it was clear he wanted to go. Good luck to him, he's been the victim of Wengers indecision over the years; in terms of playing Ox out Of position and never giving him an extended run in the side in one position. I'm sure that if he'd stayed he'd have been back as a rotation player in a few weeks. He's better than Moses so I can see Ox getting in the Chelsea side. I think he's gonna be the first of a few players leaving Arsenal this season.

Ox and Lemar are 2 different players ad not similar

They are similar. Essentially they'd be playing different roles but they would still be fighting for similar spots in the squad. Obviously Lemar is primarily a wide player but he can also play as the most advanced of the middle 3 and Ox is also a wide player but wants to play in the middle 3. They would both start in different positions in our 2nd squad, but when it comes to the first team if a position opens up due to injury/resting in the front 6 then both Lemar and Ox would be fighting for that spot.

Ox wants to be midfield only where Lemar would take Attacking Midfield and drp back into Midfield when needed.

Ox is leaving Arsenal because he was never played where he wanted to so for him to come we have to promise him that.

But if we get both it will be bye bye ilner and Can especially with Keita on the way

A more reliable source then Sky Sports

Its actually from a website with people who have been working within the club i have folowed the website for years and trust me they know what they are talking about

give it a read they have like 100 websites and they know exactly what they are talking about

Just 24 hours left for all of this to happen Adam, what is happening

Locke.

TAA is great but very suspect defensively still, Clyne will come back in once he's match fit. Gomez is a CB playing full back because of lack of depth, because Clyne is injured.

Denver

Gomez will have limited chances and CB especially if we get a new CB in the next 24 hours which i think we will but i have a feeling it wont be VVD

Twice as much as i'd have expected for him. He'll probably go on to do better at Liverpool than he would have done here, that won't hide the fact he managed 9 premier league goals in 6 seasons and thought he was gods gift after one okish season

it doesnt help when most of the time he was played in positions that he wasnt comfortable in i reckon he will be a great layer given the chance in positions he wants

He's had his fair share of chances playing in positions he wanted to play in and never produced any consistency or anything special, not to say he won't improve but he's been bang average for 6 seasons

Great deal for Ox and Liverpool; he wont be played out of position and IMO is a better footballer than Henderson so I think Liverpool have defintely strengthened by adding him.

Many think the stadium is paid for, it actually isnt. There's a debt of about 20-25 million a year but we make over 100 million thru the turnstile alone. I think we recently signed a new sponsorship deal with a kit manufacture and there is the crazy Tv money. We've got quite a high wage bill even though our highest wage is below most top six club its the sheer number of players on 50k a week or above that drives it up. All in all there can be no way Arsenal have no money so Ornstein saying this for what reason?

"It sounds like Alexis Sanchez's move to Manchester City was very close to going through - it collapsed because Thomas Lemar chose not to join Arsenal."

Alexis Sanchez had informed the people closest to himself that the move to Manchester was done and he was off. It's spectacular that this deal has fallen apart on the say-so of Thomas Lemar.

Arsenal fans will cry when he leaves for nothing

It's been inevitable Ozil and Alexis would both end up leaving for free for ages, today was the only real time theres been concrete bids and a slight chance Alexis may leave so nobody is going to cry. Had both been sold the money wouldn't have been spent properly anyway.

Andrew Robertson from Hull would be a great signing for any club in the PL. One of the best left backs about.

I know Watford were favourites the other day to get him, but now I'm hearing Liverpool are interested. They could do much worse, he's a cracking player. Was Alf right? Or was Alf right?

This post aged very well.
