The southwest monsoon caused flooding and landslides throughout Sri Lanka in May 2017 15 districts have been affected, killing 122 people and leaving 99 people missing
As of 27 May, 415,618 people are affected, 1,602 houses partially and 187 houses are fully damaged.

Natural disasters cause the most deaths and damage to society than anything else and it's only going to get worse with global warming. We need to start thinking seriously about this issue because we're going to regret it if we don't.

I agree but with all that scepticism going on within the Tory party I doubt we will be seeing much on the agenda re-global warming. May is all for fracking and building new runways and the go ahead with Hinkley Point nuclear power station. Whilst all this is going on, the Tories have been destabilizing renewable energy.

Hopefully they'll be able to find the missing people, although tbh I don't think that it's gonna be good news.

Terrible indeed.
Sri Lanka doesn't half get it bad when it comes to natural disasters. They lost so many people to the massive tsunami too.
