Now that we have our 20th team confirmed in Huddersfield, it's time we move on to a new season :) even if we have to wait 2 months

I suppose we can get all lyrical and fanciful over the new kit announcements.

75 days to go...

Antoine will clearly be a United player. Let's not kid ourselves.

Sort of perched really for Manchester to dominate again (although obviously I'd prefer United to be 6th again it's a lot funnier x)

4 of the top 7 teams that ended the league 1 season in 2011 will be playing PL football next season.

Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton and Huddersfield

So who next? Peterborough, MK Don's or Leyton Orient?

Can't wait for Spurs to win the competitive but not quite successful trophy again

Will be between Chelsea, Spurs and United next season.

I like Spurs, but teams always struggle when initially moving Stadiums so I reckon that they'll come about 6th or 7th next season.

I think that United, Chelsea, and if it's Wenger's last season at Arsenal I reckon they'll be in the title race possibly.

I'm not so sure with the Europa league to deal with. When we defend corners like that I dont give us much hope in any competition. The defenders need to explain how Vardy gets that free header from a corner. If we lose tonight I expect some panic buying.

I have missed this, my heart wont be able to take it all season but i ****ing love football sometimes. Incredible game, Laca and Sead both fit in perfectly, can't see many wingers getting the better of Sead this season. Scrappy how we had half of the team out of position but that should all change once Mustafi and Kos return.

Deserved point for Watford, we were absolutely horrific at defending set pieces last season and it looks like things haven't changed. Desperate for Van Djik. Even if Coutinho does leave, signing Virgil still has to be the top priority. Front 3 looked good and found each other well, think we've got enough going forward to tear any team in this league apart but unless improvements are made in defence we'll still drop plenty of stupid points like this one.

Denver
12-08-2017, 01:39 PM
And you have no idea what you are talking about.

Its a known fact he never concentrates on the defence since he has took over the team has conceded around 80 goals no top team should concede so much in short time

Brother Leon

Arsenal will replicate us and win the Europa to qualify for the CL anyway. They were never winning the league so the league games probably feel pointless for them tbh.

GiRTh
19-08-2017, 06:30 PM
Agreed. I'm not sure if any team has done well in the Europa and finished in the top 4. Man u 6th last year and Liverpool were 8th (I think) when they got to the Europa final two years ago. We are not gonna do well in the Europa and finish in the top 4. Dont see it happening. We need to prioritise one and I dont think it should be the league.

GiRTh
19-08-2017, 06:53 PM
ArsenalFanTV gonna be great tonight and Wengers gonna roasted IMO. He took of Lacazette for Walcott. Nuff said.. Decisions like that are gonna get him the sack. We've seen for 12 years what Walcott cant do so dont replace our record signing with that bluffer. And he kept Welbeck on after he missed a few chances but took off Kolasinac. Wengers decisions are called into question again.

Ramsey off for Coq. Yeah that's gonna win us the game

Actually, something must be major wrong for Wenger to make a change at half time. He usually makes them routinely - you set your watch by them - at 65-70 minutes, even a two nil score line doesnt usually get that kind of shock reaction from him. Maybe even he's realised this is not even close to good enough.

Think you're massively overreacting (again) to today's game, Adam. City have the best attacking players in the league, any team going down to 10 so early on while already behind and away from home would find it very difficult. 11 v 11 we were very unlucky not to be ahead and on another day we finish the chances we created, and the Mane red card could have gone either way. It's a 50/50 challenge, Ederson is outside his box, Ederson dips his head into the challenge, and if Mane wins that ball he scores, any attacking player is going to go for it, and if Ederson doesn't dip his head into the challenge then there is no debate about a red card at all.

Just putting today down as a one off really. When we had 11 on the pitch we created just as much as City did and it was only a matter of time until we scored, Otamendi was getting ripped apart every time we went near him. Hopefully we appeal the red card but either way at least Mane can play the CL games and one of the 3 he'll be suspended for is league cup which he'd have been rested in anyway.

We got took to school today. But it's good experience for our young players, it's how they react to a good hiding that'll determine if we can cut the mustard up at the top end with the big boys.

I hear some Liverpool fans want Klopp to leave, but the only mistakes he has made is not fixing the defence problems at Liverpool, and not taking the big money offer from Barcelona, and some of them are saying that they want Rafa Benitez to return, and as much as Rafa loves Liverpool, he won't return, there is no way he will take a big risk like that because it could ruin his legacy at the club, and if you sacked Klopp next week, you will not get champions league football next year,

We have lost 5 league games since January 1.

Backwards is relative, too. Is it backwards compared to how we were in Brendan's final 18 months? No, it's progress from that. It's progress from Dalglish's stint, and progress from Hodgson's. The only thing it is backwards from is the form we were in for the first half of last season, under Klopp. Support us during poor stints as well as the good form or don't support us at all.

Xhaka had a stinker (again) . Guy needs far too much time on the ball for the premiership. Its a bit concerning when you see him giving the ball away while under little pressure. Elneny wasn't much better but it was his first game of the season. Frankly West Brom could have been at least 2-1 at halftime. I dont know how we got so many midfielders but still cant get the balance right.

Another poor performance. We weren't at it going forward today but again it's the defence that let us down, the most basic goal you could ever look to concede. Any kind of coaching doesn't make a difference to that goal, it comes straight down to the brain dead centre halves we have. A poor window has let us down again, failed to build on qualifying for the Champions League just like we did last time we qualified for it. You know it's bad when you're actually happy it's an international break so you can get away from watching us for a couple of weeks.

Having said that we will improve when Lallana and Clyne are back, but sadly dick and dom at the back will continue to find ways to gift the opposition goals you'd see on a primary school playground.

Klopp has the perfect centre and the perfect forward built in the team, but his weakness is his back, his mistake is that he is following the German way of defending, and a German defender runs like an athlete up and down the pitch for 90 minutes, and here in English football are players are more heavy and only use there energy when its needed, you can see why Liverpool defenders are struggling, its Klopp's German style of defending that is burning out the energy of his defenders by the time its half-time, they are worn out, and they are too tired for the second-half, Rafa's centre and back where perfect, only good goals could get past it, and remember Benitez can turn average players into stars, yes even championship players, I'm sure Liverpool fans today wish that Rafa was back at Anfield tomorrow fixing out the defence problems at the club, who knows, he said that he will never rule out returning to Anfield one day, even Newcastle fans never thought that they would get a world class manager like him, in football anything is possible.

Gerrard is far too young and inexperienced if he takes over at Liverpool it might be like Gary Neville at Valencia . It would be a shame if a pro who actually wants to become a manager - most are happy to sit in the pundits chair - had a big profile failure in his first management job. Liverpool got to stick with Klopp and he has somehow sort out your snoozing defence. Liverpool are giving up the same goals week after week.

How did that work out?Pep was B manager for a whole season before taking over and won their league so similar but not the same. Do you think Gerrard can topple the dominance of Chelsea and Man City at that level? IF they does then give him the job with no hesitation but I doubt it. Would love it if Gerrard took over and took the drastic steps Pep took like getting rid of their star players. Gerrard will probably be Liverpool manager at some point soon but surely not yet.

No need to talk about another manager at all. The fans love Klopp, there would be murder if he got sacked. He deserves time, but most importantly money. We have a net spend of under £30m since he arrived. I'd also disagree that he has the perfect forward. Firmino is brilliant but he's not going to score 20+ a season, he's 15 league goals a season at very best in the PL. It's important he stays in the side because he's very important to how we play, but ideally we'd have a top forward like Utd/Chelsea/City/Arsenal/Spurs have. That would have been Sturridge if he was the Studge of 3 years ago, but sadly he's not going to reach those levels again.
