I am asking this as a gay person because no one came out to me before in real life and i dont want to make my friend uncomfortable. Once someone told me and friends suddenly I AM GAY and i lolled because i didnt think he was gay, we just met couple of days ago and we live in a middle east country i didnt think anyone would tell that so easily then he was like yeah i was joking. couple of months later i found out he was really gay so i feel bad about it (and i have to fix that mess as well)

Depends who but I'm really bad at emotional stuff so i would be incredibly uncomfortable.

I'm awkward at every kind of emotion so it's best not to go to me.

My friend came out to me and I just told him nothing changes. I'll always be there for him but he best not try turning any guys I like.

So basically made him feel at ease and then joked about it.

Unless hes a very serious person, they should understand your explanation perfectly. Just send him a jokey apology/explanation and youll be fine i think
