From what I understand this isn't LiS 2, but a small miniseries prequel.

I'm a bit conflicted, I'm obviously here for more LiS but I'm not sure a prequel is really needed. I think I would have preferred the rumours of LiS being an anthology series with each season having it's own characters and story.

It'll hold me over until season 2 so I'm all for it!

Prequel is a little pointless with the whole choices dynamic as we all know what it will lead to. It's a miniseries though so I can live with it.

isn't it created by a different company than LIS?
I'll probably play it but I'm not crazy about the series in general. No Max so I guess that's a huge plus

Hmmm but it was an illusion in the first game anyway, the vast majority of your choices didn't matter, in fact only your final choice (to undo it all or not) matters. If you save Chloe, the town is destroyed and everyone dies anyway so none of your choices matter. If you go back and let her die as she was supposed to, time from that point is rewritten completely so none of your choices matter. The only part of that that really bothered me was that (arguably) the most powerful moment of the game, Kate's suicide, is meaningless at the end of the game. If you let Chloe live then Kate either died jumping from the roof if you failed to save her, or died with the town even if you did save her. If you let Chloe die then Kate lives, whether she jumped from the roof or not. It made the impact of that part of the game feel suddenly really hollow for me. Or maybe that's the message - that your choices don't matter and you can't really change anything in the end... As it is strongly implied that saving Chloe means that the whole world is eventually screwed.

Started playing, really liking it so far, feels pretty self contained.

I have played the 1st episode this morning and I found the controls a bit clunky when walking around :(

Nice enough episode though, hope the 2nd is a bit more exciting though.

Finish the ep, a lot better than I expected it to be, given that Dontnod aren't the main guys behind this one. It's recaptured Arcadia Bay pretty well.

i mostly like how you're learning more about Chloe now, but also about David & Joyce, and Rachel Amber

i also liked the new characters :hee:

Just played episode 2, loving how true to the original this game is, I thought it was an odd choice to have a seperate studio do a prequel, while Dontnod made Vampyr/Life is Strange 2, but it has really worked out.

Dontnod is gonna do Life is Strange 2 yes, that's confirmed, so they allowed another studio to do the prequel otherwise they wouldn't have time for the sequel anymore ;)

i like playing the prequel episodes, but i also enjoy watching YouTube videos watching others how they play the game, what choices they make
