The thing that inspired me most was the fun atmosphere and different format of the game - so I went with some alternative, funky acts to headline.

3rd - Tregard - 2 points

For my poster, I spent a lot of time looking at Greek iconography and design, and came to the following conclusions. The "Greek" look I was attempting to emulate uses bold two-tone in it's colour, and straight lines to achieve a striking contrasts along the edges. By taking these elements of the "sky-blue-white" flag, alongside three of my personal favourite flat icons of Greek origin (an elemental symbol for air, a greek labyrinth, and a laurel), I was able to play around with allowing the words to either allow a stripe to bleed up or down into it's neighbouring strip, or contrast the colour within that strip. Both effects draw the eye in similar ways, and I like to think the end result is something exciting and positively Grecian.

My setlist was inspired by four of my favourite Greek Eurovision entries of previous years, as I feel this best reflects the competitive spirit of Revolution. It is as vibrant as the people of Greece themselves!

Also, fun fact: Did you know the Greek flag has nine stripes due to that being the number of syllables in Greece's motto, Ελευθερία ή Θάνατος (Freedom or Death)? Everyday is a school day!

R3VOLUTION presents...

The colour scheme of this poster is mainly blue and white - to reflect the Greece national flag colours, with the title of the festival written in the flag colours. The theme of Greece is also captured on the poster through the venue; Odeon of Herodes Atticus, which is located on the southwest slope of the famous Acropolis of Athens! This gives festival goers a real experience of Greek history whilst enjoying their favourite artists performing. Some Greek artists such as Kalomira and Helena Paparizou have also agreed to perform meaning the event will be a real Greek affair.

The poster also captures the excitement of a festival through the big names signing up such as Coldplay and Ariana Grande; meaning the festival is simply not to be missed! The words "and many special guests" also tease that some other big names may appear, making the festival goers even more excited!

The theme of 'revolution' is captured through the background with the fist holding the microphone. This background symbolises a MUSIC REVOLUTION which fits in perfectly with the theme of Revolution. Festival goers will feel empowered at Revofest and be free to be who they want to be!
