BB Africa 2 has been confirmed. The largest BB ever, which includes 12 countries, Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. will launch on August 5th 2007 and will last 99 days.

The first series took place in 2003 and lasted 106 days. It was won by Cherise Makubale from Zambia. The first series featured a housemate swap with BBUK.

Arneldo

Big Brother Africa 2

'The Big Brother Africa 2' housemates will occupy a new 'Big Brother' house, situated somewhere in South Africa. "The exact location and details of the house remain a secret for now," says Fischer.

One thing we do know is that it will be a totally different house to the previous one, as that has been incorporated into M-Net's broadcast facilities ('Deal Or No Deal' is currently filmed in the old house).

One of the 12 housemates will be a South African citizen. To find the other contestants, 'Big Brother' will cast its eye over Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The person who manages to stay in the house for the longest will walk off with 100,000 US dollars.

Entries for 'Big Brother Africa' opened on Friday (13 April). Entry forms are available online at www.mnet.co.za or at the Multichoice offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

The selection committee will be looking for a South African 'Big Brother Africa 2' contestant who is fun-loving, creative, original, articulate and opinionated (i.e. a drunken lout who doesn't mind showing off their whang in the shower on national telly).

The closing date for entries is 2 May 2007.

'Big Brother Africa 2' will be screened 24/7 on a dedicated DStv channel and the four daily highlight shows (Tuesday to Friday) and weekly nomination and eviction show will be on M-Net's AfricaMagic channel, also on DStv.

Well I live in the US. I'm not sure if you do. It's the Africa Channel. I get it on Comcast, but it didn't work on my last cable company. (It's premium cable)

Yeah, I live in the States as well. I have digital comcast. The Africa Channel, I will have to see if I have it. I just looked and of course I don't. I wish BBC America would air the British version, that would be great.

The BBC don't broadcast Big Brother UK. Channel 4 does.

14-06-2007, 01:08 PM
Yes I know that, but BBC America broadcasts shows that air on other channels other then just the BBC. For instance Hollyoaks, Green Wing, The F Word, and Shameless from Channel 4, and footballers Wives and Weakest Link from ITV airs on BBC America.

Matt
14-06-2007, 01:13 PM
Are you sure? Weakest Link is on BBC2 over here :spin:

Rory
14-06-2007, 05:43 PM
We get "Whose Line", Hollyoaks, The F Word, Green Wing, Shipwrecked, and I think Shameless on BBC America.

BBC America has no plans to air BBUK, I emailed them. I don't know why, because it'd certainly draw more viewers than those Benny Hill and Whose Line reruns we get all day.

dtd2
15-06-2007, 02:51 AM
Oh sorry, I thought for some reason that Weakest Link was on ITV for some reason, not sure why. But, basically they air shows that air on 4, ITV, and Sky as well.

Matt
15-06-2007, 12:07 PM
Nope. Weakest Link is a BBC format. C4 have Deal Or No Deal over here.

I think that it would be brilliant to have a swap with Big Brother USA. The USA house only has one black. The last African version only had one white. It would really be like a culture shock for either. England does usually tend to cast more racially diverse casts, so it would be more of one then it was for the first one.

Captain.Remy
05-08-2007, 07:22 AM
I hope there is a way to watch it because it will be very interesting. The house is georgous too.

I really loved this. They all have such great personalities, especially the presenter Kabelo. :D Loved the entrances.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Tatiana - She may be a little stuck up.
Lerato - Another confident chick, but she seems more genuine.
Bertha - She seems cool and ready to go. Maybe a bit of a stirrer.
Maxwell - Seems nice, he's definitely going to be real.
Justice - He's so short. He may have Napoleon Syndrome.
Ofunneka - I like her, but she seems a little rowdy. She's got a lot of personality.
Maureen - Seems rather tough. I think she may be an early evictee though.
Meryl - I don't like her, she seems argumentative.
Jeff - Boring, muscle head.
Code - Love Code! He's my favourite. He's cool and a bit of a free spirit.
Kwaku - He's ok; I need to see more of him.

They're all very confident too. Very upfront about their strategies. I really like it. And there's also so much sexual tension on opening night.

Fake Nominations

Meryl and Ofunneka are the first two Housemates to lead the charts in a fake eviction nomination session with Big Brother.

While Housemates Richard, Meryl, Maureen, Tatiana and Jeff found it difficult to choose two Housemates to nominate, the general consensus is that Meryl and Lerato are too sexually overt and Justice is too sensitive.

Max has not escaped unscathed as Jeff nominated him for making too much of noise and disrupting the other Housemates sleep.

Ofunneka, Maureen and Jeff have all been criticised for not mixing with the other Housemates.

For Tatiana, Code and Kwaku, the session has proved successful as none of the Housemates nominated them.

They (Lerato and Meryl) are a bit too over-shadowing in conversation. There are better topics in conversations than immoral things like boobs and stuff.'' - Ofunneka to Big Brother in the Diary Room. Meryl and Ofunneka are the first two Housemates

The first actual nominations are still a few days away is this how the real nominations will actually turn out ? Only time will tell.
