You can't choose a gender.Gender is a set of tools that we use to navigate our way through life.An understanding that we have all agreed upon the rules to.
I don't think this is directed towards transgenders because we more or less understand how to act around them. You basically treat them as the opposite sex to what they are. This is i think about all these new fashionable genders.
You don't decide your gender,It is agreed upon by society otherwise people don't know how to interact with you.
Quite interesting.

I agree that you don't choose a gender, and that there are two. I take the "Blaire White" philosophy toward transpeople - some people feel the need to transition to the opposite gender, and you should call them he/she based on this, but the crazy nonbinary stuff is just nonsense.

Why can't people just let others do what they want? How does it affect them in any way?

In North America, "misgendering" can get you fined or arrested, depending on the state/province. I don't think people's livelihoods should be at risk when they don't realise someone isn't the gender they appear to be, or because they can't keep with made up pronouns such as "ze" or "xir".

Why would you have to interact with people differently based on whether they're male or female, though .
