does anyone else think this would be a good idea? whenever you ask about an infraction on the forum (i was actually banned for doing this last week) all you get is "pm a mod/admin" when like how tf am i supposed to know who to pm? i've been told before "oh i didn't give that infraction so idk" wELL EXCUSE ME?

"oh i didn't give that infraction so idk"

I always get this response from every last one of them. It's like a game of Cluedo working out which one stabbed me in the back.

Messy, the appeals section should just return

Vicky.
27-06-2017, 10:15 PM
Not bothered if this happens but I am not going to be doing this. **** that. The abuse you get for something thats nothing to do with you and the sheer amounts of moaning self pitying PMs there would be. Victim complexes so many have. Think that we are all out to get them and that. BIASTY!!!!!

Honestly you should see the state of the old appeals forum and the PMs sent to tibb staffs inbox :umm2:

I do know that one.

It was a mistake and reversed as it originally permabanned you (!) with 999 points

Then was given again...was the reason on that one 'spammed advertisements' too?

Your infraction was actually for posting porn which you know isn't allowed

Hope that helps.

This is a good question actually.

Surely if you pm the mod who gave you an infraction they won't reverse it or bother looking into it or do they have to open up a mod only discussion for other mods to chat about it?

like i got infracted last week for saying "please get off the internet" when clearly that was just dry humour :conf2:

like if every single mod on there agrees that saying that to someone deserves punishment then jesus :eyes:

I think that hardly ever happens :suspect: the only time I think that it might is if something needs to be discussed amongst all the Mods first so the one thats online might just close the thread for now and then discuss what course of action to take when other Mods come online

This is what happens. Each infraction generates its own thread in the admin section. Even without someone PMing about them sometimes another mod will question it (or just say its too harsh/lenient) and a discussion occurs in the thread. When people PM me about infractions I usually tell them I will just post a comment in the infraction thread about it...

We don't tend to reverse each others infractions without a discussion. I don't remember a time that has ever happened actually.

We all nominate Josy for this

Josy
28-06-2017, 06:50 AM
None of us will doing this, we get enough ****e from members when 9/10 they are the ones that broke the rule.

And if someone disputes an infraction we always check in the admin forum and have a discussion if we find the infraction to be unclear or unfair and then it generally gets reversed, unless of course the infraction reason is obvious and the member that got it is just chancing it.

Josy
28-06-2017, 06:52 AM
And also, why do members talk complete crap on the forum about infraction reasons etc, Scott you clearly went into the chat thread and posted that the person responsible for your infraction 'needs to be kicked on the titty' so lets not talk ****e about it.

I miss the old way where you could see which mod gave you the infractions and how many points it was worth, would stop all the hiding behind "I didn't give it"

Y'all get **** anyway, at least then you'd only get **** for the infractions you gave out

Well the point is we shouldn't be getting **** at all, most on here are adults and should act like it when they break a rule instead of trying to project the blame onto the mod that deals with the rule break

Should do, but don't, at the end of the day you're policing adults on the internet, if they break the rules they're obv gonna get ****ty about being punished, makes it easier on yourselves imo if you can see whose give the infractions, stops the whole "this mod hates me and always infarcts me mentality too"

Appeals were a nightmare and they were rarely used for the right reasons. People would just kick up a stink about every infraction although it was obvious they deserved it.

The only way I'd ever think about supporting it's return is if it's against the rules to appeal obviously deserved infractions. It should be for correcting mistakes and errors in infractions not for trying your luck to get out of a deserved infraction.

If you cant stay within the forum rules its not the mods fault.
This site is well policed.

What I do is just tiptoe through the forum posting my witty observations and keep well within the rule book. Honestly if forum members would just play by the rules then you would not need to appeal anything.

Poor mods and admin is what I say :)

It used to happen, going back maybe 5/6 years or something now though

All that happened was that mods would be accused of targeting certain members as they were the only mods who were online at certain hours. I got so much **** as I tended to be on through the night when others weren't and it was nearly always the same few that kicked off on a night.

Also nearly every infraction given would result in an abusive PM sent in reply. Which tended to end in bans, which got peoples backs up even more

It used to be horrific, I can remember receiving tons of hate (How times have changed....) from it because people don't understand that my personality quirks don't reflect how I mod. Posting and modding are two different things in my eyes and that's always been the case.

I'd be as against one mod handling appeals as much as I would a return for the appeals system. It's too much work for one person and there would inevitably be accusations of bias.

Simply PM'ing a mod if you TRULY think an infraction is wrong/unjustified will always get the infraction overturned if that's the case.

Is it about Eurovision?

Meet Danny and his friends: Twentysomething lovers, psychedelic casualties and would be rock stars in present day Cork, whose often fraught but always colourful inner universes are about to collide with one another in a year that will change their lives forever. A year where they will be asked to participate in the construction of meaning in their own lives.

Doesnt sound like it
