Yeah the search function is temperamental at best. Find it easier to type it into my URL bar and hope for the best. Not ideal for specific posts though obviously.

It gets threads and posts quicker than the advanced search

Have you tried Search - Advanced Search, and the 'Search Titles Only'? Although when I tried that there with 'Game Thrones' it didn't find the main Game of Thrones thread, for some reason. It did find it just doing a normal search.

I find the search function okay really - bear in mind that posts are only indexed every few minutes, so the very latest won't appear in the search results.

It never finds what I'm looking for :fist:

I don't get all these complaints - give more examples.

I don't think the results are always in chronological order, unless you choose it.

I've done a direct database search for 'feist' and 'fiest' and no such thread exists.

I've been trying to fix the search feature so it shows better results.

The site might be a little slow for a short while.

Does it show old results yet? Or is that a database searching issue. And I assume the same reason that users who left and had “all their posts deleted” actually only had a couple of years of posts deleted and everything older is still there :joker:.

…not to call you guys out or anything

What do you mean? I don't understand.

You can find old results per username by sorting in ascending order on the advanced search.

Any sign of the Feist - Pleasure thread yet

There are users who wanted all of their old posts deleted... it looks like someone tried to do so and changed the usernames to generic names, but the deleted posts actually only go back as far as the search function goes, most of the posts are still there (under the generic names)...

I'll admit that my reason for asking is because I have AT TIMES mused over asking to be "forgotten" - but from a little digging this seems not to be possible.

This discussion I had about a game with "Tom" begs to differ :joker:. Unless the later post deletions are manual? All posts that go back as far as the search function are deleted, older posts remain.
