View Full Version : Petition For Internet Live Feed To Be Free!

During BB1 and BB2, the internet live feed was free, so there was no monthly fee to pay. So, more and more people started watching it online, meaning the Channel 4 website got more hits.

But, ever since 2002, viewers and fans alike would have to pay a monthly fee of £9.95 which is unacceptable and just plain greedy by Channel 4! I remember watching it live for BB2, which was great - less hassle. But now, you have to pay a lousy fee, to some company that gets enough money to even recommission each series.
So now, I have to watch Big Brother Live on E4, which isn't good at all, because usually the very interesting conversations are during the advert breaks, but online, there is no interuption.
So, please sign this petition and submit your view in the poll, and so hopefully Channel 4 will get notice of it (very unlikely).

I would like a free live feed since it is highly unlikely that us Freeviewers will get an E4 feed this year. It would also be nice to watch it uninterrupted. I am totally with you on this.

i'd like a free live feed aswell but i have it on sky anyway but i think it is a little greedy of C4 to charge people for whatching it live.

And besides, if they can offer Channel 4 free live over the internet, I don't see why they can't make the live feed free too.

Thanks Matt! People with Freeview should get the live feed, and even if they do, the live internet feed should be free. But with me, I have Sky so it comes with the £14.99 deal.

In 2002, Big Brother producers as well as Channel 4 should have known that it was going to make a huge success. It had an average of 5.8 million, a record that is very unlikely be broken, made around 22,000,000 votes (meaning £5,500,000 from votes), plus more advertising revenue from it.

And besides, for someone like me, a live feed on my PC is more convenient.

Me too. I only have one television, which is downstairs, and one computer, which is in my room upstairs (though I have to share a lot with my 15-year-old sister who is a Harry Potter fan). So, when I can post live updates, it would be much easier.

I won't go into it too much, but with a site to run it would be lots more convenient.

And more importantly, why are you putting it down already? You could find it the best series ever by the end of the summer.

Hey, I was supposed to be the only one to pick the 9.95 option. I wanted to be different. I did pick it first, so it has kinda backfired in my face.

Butlet me remin you all for the people who do pay the net fee:

It was free for Big Brother 1 and Big Brother 2, so many could watch it (nearly 7 million watched Nick being ejected), plus everyone knows what is going, without any biased editing.

So, why should we pay extra now? Also, I think the multiscreen should come back, but with each screening turning big, not very small.
