Rumours: BB8 to be a Battle? (and related topics merged)

Apparently this year Big Brother is going to surprise everybody. The series will, according to an informant, be a “battle� between two (or more) teams who will live in the new house. The new house will, apparently, be divided into two (or more) parts.

It will be more similar to BB3 which featured the divide and - for the first time - will be called Big Brother: The Battle. The informant says the new eye is not finished yet, but that Eatock and his staff are still working on it. It’s allegedly called Double The Trouble .

Anyway, this is quite an interesting rumour, but lest we don’t forget the same one crops up nearly every year. However, producers did say BB8 would be “very different� so who knows?

BIG Brother wannabes are already being spied on by a Channel 4 undercover team to ensure they are not mentally unstable.

Producers are desperate to know as much as possible about the potential housemates before the show returns next month.

A handful of the wannabes, who impressed bosses during the audition stages, have been singled out for the I-Spy treatment.

They are being watched at work, at their local pubs and are even being tracked as they hit the town for a night on the tiles.

An insider for the show – which is this year to be renamed Big Brother: The Battle – revealed: “It wants to know everything it can about the people. It’s to make sure there are absolutely no surprises.”

The move comes following a backlash last year from mental health campaigners who criticised the show for allowing self-styled “Paki poof” Shahbaz Chauhdry into the house.

He was sensationally pulled out in the first week after claiming he went on the show to kill himself.

The 38-year-old’s hysterical and erratic behaviour angered campaigners, including the Samaritans, who attacked the show claiming not enough was done to check that the contestants were not mentally ill.

Now telly chiefs want to “cover all bases” and make sure they do not put anyone into the house who can’t cope under the pressure or is showing any signs of suffering from a mental health problem.

Our insider added: “They have to get it right this time because there was so much negative press around the series last year and this year’s celebrity show.
“If there is another backlash it could mean the end of the show.”

Meanwhile, producers are keeping tight-lipped about the number of housemates in this year’s show, and details of the new-look house are being kept under lock and key.

Top designers have been working on the house in Elstree, Herts, for the last six months to give it a top-to-toe makeover.

And they have drafted in psychologists to make it a house of horrors.

It is believed there will be secret rooms, oppressive decor and smaller rooms, to put even more pressure on the gang when they move in next month.

Big Brother babe Davina McCall, 39, will be back to host the main show and cheeky Dermot O’Leary, 33, will still host spin-off show Big Brother’s Little Brother, despite landing the new job as host of The X Factor.

But Big Brother’s Big Mouth presenter Russell Brand, 31, will not be back after quitting the show.

What the article basically says is that Housemates will have a Personal Bank Account. Each week the Housemates have to fight it out to be on the House Rich List to avoid eviction. cash strapped housemates will face the public vote. Sounds pretty good a? It says its their most contreoversial twist yet.

The idea is cool I think, it could be make a great show...if the housemates play the game and the athmosphere is excellent. The producers must surprise the viewers...and the are not obligated to change the format.
It could have the weekly tasks, the eviction on friday, the nominations on tuesday. The only thing who could change is this famous "battle" between the houses. Nothing more !

I'd say not linking to false information is a good reason for removing a link. It might be worth linking to these 'facts', 'logos' or 'screenshots' on other sites if they actually had some truth in them and weren't totally made up.

Actually DS are pretty liberal. Their rules state: "We only permit links to other websites in threads when relevant to a pre-existing discussion or when they refer to an interesting specific article."

Fake or not, it's interesting, from any site. Personally I don't care what site is linked they all seem to have the same rumours on them. I agree people who just spam their own sites is wrong, but a complete ban of links strikes me that this site is a tad insecure.

You can tell its fake , the only reason the reflection looks real is that the advert is actually somehow put on the tv (maybe the person uploaded the fake advert on to a dvd then played it on the tv) and the photo is taken, rather then them putting it on afterwards using photo shop or something. We can safetly say its fake

I'd say fake information is more annoying than interesting, and I'm sure most people would agree.

This site has been online for over five years - making up false information to get visitors from links spread across other forums is what I'd call 'insecure'.

I think this may appear to be true, with quite a few rumours on the Battle theme, you just never know!! Would be good though, sounds like something America would do, with the sub-heading, but it may appear to be a magor hit with viewers!

well i cant belive you havent heard of this but bb8 is supposed to be renamed big brother 'the battle'

and instead of prize money. you ghet more money when u complete a task sucsessfully. and the perople with the lowest money are put up for eviction. and in this case there will be no nominating.

and they have to battle it out. so one side of the house aganst the other side.

If you look at the pictures in todays daily star you can see there is a reception area at the bottom of the stairs before there is another door to the main house!

This year do people think that the producers will introduced a divide. Splitting the house so that there is no longer one group to belong to but two or three. Hence taking away the group experience from the house mates so there is no middle ground or shared experience between the fun fun fun brigade and those that require a bit more high brow stimulation.

The Dutch did it during on of their earlier series and it was quite successful.

I personally love this time, just before the start of the series, when there's loads of speculation!

I think this picture is OLDER than the one with the boxes.

For BB7, they just covered the wallks with plastic (the yelow and black stuff), and they probably stuck it on top of the BB6 walls.

I bet this was taken after the plastic stuff was removed, but before the boxes were put in. :)

I've just popped onto my desktop and when i log in the BB News Ticker still pops up. Its been there since BB7, ive been too lazy to uninstall it.

Anyone who knows about the ticker knows that it scroll BB News across as it happens, with links to the C4 Site.

Anyway, it is scrolling across news stories! The 2 that make sense read 'we go in the house' and 'Battle Royal'. Does this mean that BB8 will be the Battle?

Maybe there's a Battle Royale style task? Somehow based on the japanese film that Channel 4 have shown a few times? That'd be quite interesting :P

Ive tried french , italian and spanish and got nothing. Ill try belgian their now.

Cant seem to find a Belgian-English thingy online. And wikipedia and google have nothing on Sonja and Jedlein. Sonja is several things , including a gourmet and a comic book character but nothing notable.

I remember reading the news ticker on E4 live coverage on the red button when it was BB4 or 4. They didnt seem to have it for 5,6,7. I relaly liked the Big Brother news ticker, You could read whats happened during the day if you werent watching the live coverage. I hope they bring back the news ticker for Big Brother 8 it was so great!!!! :bigsmile:.
