My daughter suffers quite badly from this -and has to be very careful what she eats.
I understand there are lots of different forms - might be worth doing a search on the web.

Here is an even better idea.
Visit your GP, if you have one :nono:

Np, LMG, I don't think so. It is something that reflects your state of mind, your diet and your personal make up. You can do a lot about it, but I agree it is pretty grim before you sort it. best of luck with it LMG. My tip,(based on years of expereience as a nurse) - more fibre and more exercise and absolutely NO smoking.

IBS is nasty not only because of the discomfort but also because it is hard to treat and to be totally honest the docters have no idea what causes it or really how to treat it.
I had it for a while and found out that once i stopped the large nights and out and the curries my IBS went away... It does reappear every now and again though.
Also stress is a good cause of IBS....

Peppermint is very good for the digestion, miss little glitzee. You can buy peppermint tablets in health food shops. Also, I believe you can buy it as a drink. I'm pretty sure I've seen peppermintade or some such in Tesco's.
