Dogs. No matter how badly they're treated they still want to give you their love and trust. Heartbreaking... and wonderful. And yeah, I prefer them to people too, generally.

Me too. The stray probably felt safer and less alone close to another little dog. It would be lovely if she could, or find someone who can.
