You need some better lyrics for women's empowerment. This is like a 6 year old Katy Perry fan girl who has been too much on twitter with poor language skills wrote it. That's a shame it's the best she could do.

I mean... I cringe every time she sings "don't touch my weave". The music itself is good and the chorus is catchy (it does grow on me), but I think a few of the lyrics' choice of words are quite poor and could use a little bit of adjustment. The message of the song is good and valid but she loses a bit of her argument with the constant use of "mother****ing"/"mother****er"/"run my ****" - not the most mature-sophisticated comeback @ misogyny.
(I might be putting too much emphasis on the lyrics of a pop song, so umm yeah nevermind...)

I think I just love the funk/rhythm of it, I barely even noticed the lyrics when I first listened lmao (I thought she was singing 'weed' not weave' ) But I think the lyrics are meant to be basic, like it's more a burst of raw energy and feeling rather than her trying to say anything deep and meaningful, I don't think that's what she's really trying to do with it and so it works for what it aims to be imo, so personally it doesn't make me cringe... Katy Perry's 'Chained to The Rhythm' on the other hand...

It was her first single from the album after all her Dr Luke story, so I had a certain expectation.
