It's a silly thing for her to say. The flag represents the industrial part of our past, the depiction of the chain on the flag is not referencing slavery but the fact that chains were one of our trademark exports. It's just a new MP making a bad decision to make a name for herself but of course some people will look for any excuse to go 'Grrr Labour! Grr the Left! Grrr people that think differently to me!'

shame you backtracked on the truth in your last few sentences. this is the disease of the left to falely accuse all opponents of racism and sexism all day long. Its a cheap shot and it should become a serious crime to make these endless false accusations
