THE Weakest Link is making a comeback to screens.

The BBC quiz show fronted by ‘Queen of mean’ Anne Robinson will return to the BBC in November.

It will be revived for a celebrity special for Children in Need with talk of bringing the show back for good next year.

A source said: “The Weakest Link was one of the most exciting and original quizzes in television history, and left a huge void when it came off air.

“Nothing has really replaced it so the prospect of its return is really exciting.

“But instead of being a teatime format, the 2018 version will be a primetime Saturday night series.

“This time around, it will be a celebrities at the helm which will really give it a fresh and fun new feel.

“Terms have been agreed in principle, and the BBC are hopeful of attracting some great – albeit brave – celeb names.”

Last night Anne Robinson confirmed the news saying: “I‘ve been chatting to the BBC controller of Entertainment who has had the idea of reviving the show.

“Who knows? I’m a bit on the old side for television and I can’t bake cakes. But I’m quite good at marinating my tongue in acid.”

The show was one of the broadcaster’s most successful and was licensed to over 70 countries.

It ran from 2000 until 2012.

I think they should do a 10 episode (2 week) Trial because it's all well and good rating well for a one off special, but really they need to know it can survive for every weekday over a few weeks.

Would be best to have 5 Civilian episodes so they know it'll get the same success as other Shows (The Chase, Tipping Point etc) and 5 'special' episodes (maybe a Celebrity one, a Reality TV one (BB, LI, TOWIE, GS, MiC etc), a Musician one with popular/former singers, things like that) so they can keep the interest in it.

I use to love the special themes , one time they did wwe wrestlers and I think triple h won :joker: .

But I enjoyed the CIN special it made me laugh and I'm glad Chizzy won :) .
