View Full Version : How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test?

I've got my first attempt at my practical driving test tomorrow :worry: and I just want to assure myself that quite a few don't pass first time...

It took me 2, I failed my first one within the first few minutes (and I knew I'd failed there and then because the instructor had to use his set of brakes... even though it was completely unnecessary imo :idc: but anyway) it was awful having to continue for the rest of the test when I just wanted to get out the car and cry
Loads of people fail first time though and honestly it made me so much more confident and determined for the second time so don't worry about it too much if you do fail. I actually think that failing a driving test isn't so much down to how good you are at driving (you wouldn't be put in for it if you weren't capable), it's more down to nerves and stress getting the better of you.

6 times and the last one I'm pretty sure only passed me out of sympathy.

I passed first time!

Honestly, though, I think with a lot of people they take their test before they are ready or try to rush through everything resulting in multiple fails imo.

As long as you yourself feel prepared and have had sufficient training/practice you will be fine. Just need to relax and curb the nerves.

Passed first time, but I think it was because he was terrified he would get me again.
Good luck.
Just think of it as another driving lesson, it helped me.

Passed first time although I spent most the test thinking I'd failed after stalling at traffic lights, think that actually calmed the nerves after that and helped me drive better

Passed the first time but I had to pass the exam portion twice because I waited too long to take my driving test. :skull:

On my second test I thought id messed up in the first 5 minutes so must have relaxed and didnt get even any minor faults. No theory test when I learned
