While on my hunt for BB news i came across this Peter Bazalgette Interview (http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0200wales/page.cfm?objectid=12967138&method=full&siteid=50082&headline=Reality%20cheque)

Last year Big Brother made Endemol a staggering £5m from text messaging alone, with each text message vote costing 25p, while requests for Big Brother ringtones, logos and news updates make the company between 25p and £1.50.

The total number of votes cast by the public topped 25 million, beating the previous year's 16 million, while the final scored Channel 4's best ever ratings figure - 9.9 million viewers.

Interesting interview, Amy - thanks.

One point I'd like to make, and I think we discussed it before on the forum, is that although Endemol made more money than ever out of BB3, last year was the first time they didn't donate any of the profits to charity. :nono:

It would be nice to think, given that they are promising this year's BB will be going more 'back to basics', that they could also have a rethink about this.

What do you think, Peter?

That's a very good point Kaz.

Big Brother is such a money-spinning enterprise now that they can easily afford to give something back.
