OJ Simpson Granted Parole. Will Be Released In October

O.J. Simpson has been granted parole after nine years in prison for a Las Vegas robbery, a group of four Nevada commissioners decided today.

The imprisoned former NFL player could be released as early as Oct. 1.

Simpson, 70, delivered a rambling account of the case to the parole board earlier today, maintaining that he didn’t intend to steal but “wish this would have never happened.”

Simpson was at times jovial and combative with the members of the parole board, expressing his remorse and saying he's humbled by his incarceration. Simpson was sentenced to prison following an arrest in 2007 during a botched robbery in Las Vegas, when he led a group of men into a hotel and casino to steal sports memorabilia at gunpoint. He contended the memorabilia and other personal items belonged to him.

Simpson said today, "I take full responsibility."

omg is he 70? :o How on earth does a person get parole after 9 years when the sentence was for 33? I don't get that. Also, shame he never took responsibility for that double murder.

A guy on TV today,An American guy(possibly an attorney or something) was saying he was over sentenced and he's been a model inmate.He's served probably more time than he would in this country with good behaviour i think.

I've watched the "untold story" on OJ and clearly, the entire investigation wasn't only shoddy but corrupt too. His son Jason was never investigated. A chef who always carried his knives and suffered from anger issues and had a record of threatening a woman with a knife. I think it was Jason and I think OJ protected Jason.

Apparently someone else wrote it and then the publishers (Newscorp) paid him to say he'd written it, which he agreed to because everyone thought he was a murderer anyway so why not :umm2:
