.....Channel 4 tells me that they considered making the Big Brother voting lines free this year. But it almost certainly won't happen, not because it would lose a significant profit, but C4 would be saddled with a significant cost base. Free voting lines would result in many more votes than paid-for lines. Someone has to pay for that - C4 in this case. I should also say that in my experience the Big Brother voting is the cleanest in the industry. It's audited - live - by the Electoral Reform Society, who hold no brief for anyone.....

I doubt it would be good for the show anyway. It would lead to a lot of pointless multiple-voting which would skew eviction votes. Unless they could limit the number of votes from each person.

Yeah, it would be stupid if it was free, as then people will vote more frequently as its free and it just would be pointless

They can't really win in terms of what they do with votes to be honest because people moan at having to pay but like someone has already mentioned not charging people would mean people would just continually vote over and over, best thing for them to do is just make the voting charges more reasonable and give more to charity.
