Officers searching for Madeleine McCann have just 11 weeks left before their funding runs out.

The Metropolitan Police received an extra £85,000 earlier this year from the Home Office to continue the Operation Grange investigation.

But the cash dries up at the end of September, with officers still determined to find the youngster who went missing in Portugal 10 years ago when she was abducted by a probable paedo.

Madeleine was discovered missing from her bed in the rented apartment by her horrified mother shortly after 10pm on May 3 2007 when she came back from not far during frequent checking

I really hope they find her with these last few weeks :fc: (I know it's REAL wishful thinking but just some closure would be nice)

Kate and Gerry killed her (probably accidentally). Their mates covered it up. They didn't want her body to ever be discovered because they have something to hide. Some of the tapas 7 were reported to police because they were suspected of being a bit dodgy around kids. (This was before Maddie went missing.)

I only say it's right because if they haven't found her in TEN YEARS the likelihood is they're 99.9% never going to find her.

It's disgusting. The funding would've been stopped ages ago/or have been considerably less. Before LT or someone quotes me like 'evidence' just look at how Shannon Matthews was treated (albeit it was a lie but they didn't know that)

Why should maddie be a special case as a missing child and be funded by the public purse? Millions has been poured into a search that has yielded nothing. Maddie died in my opinion on the night she ws reported missing. Plenty of more recent missing children who are deserving of public money to search for them

Its not a competition. I think there is still hope, we must continue on the search. Look how much Kate and him has done. We have to admire that and use this as a beacon of hope for ALL missing children.

Its not a competition you are quite right and as such maddie unfortunately is not a special case and therefore we cannot continue to throw money at a futile case. I am not casting aspersions on her parents, I have no idea what happened and I dont think we ever will. Time to move on and focus on children who have recently disappeared and could be found.

Yes, sad news this morning, but the fact that they are putting it down to an accident makes me think they have known he had died years ago.
I am surprised they found evidence of decomposing body in the soil but no teeth/bones etc.

Where was it discredited or did you just decide that yourself? Odd that two Doctors who were friends of the McCanns would go so far as to make up a story like that and actually make a statement to the Police about it imo but there is no way to prove that conversation ever happened, yes.

I think after so many years, unless someone talks, it would be fairly impossible to find her. This UK investigation was probably fairly futile from the getgo.

In the case of Ben Needham someone did talk, he came forward and said his friend who had recently died killed Ben accidentally and covered it up.
