Passengers are being escorted off a major theme park ride after it stopped at its highest possible point.

Terrified thrillseekers are being helped to safety from the Oblivion ride at Alton Towers in Staffordshire.

The Oblivion ride was opened in March 1998 and features a drop of 180ft with a top speed of 68mph.

It is just yards away from the Smiler rollercoaster - where two teenage girls each lost a leg and 14 others were injured in June 2015.

I saw that exact same thing happen when I was at alton towers nearly 15 years ago... And no one gave a ****. They just took the people off and repaired it.

This is only "news" because of the smiler incident.
