View Full Version : House approves $1.6 billion bill for Trump's wall

Un...****ing...believable

(CNN)The House voted Thursday to approve a spending bill with $1.6 billion to put toward a border wall along the US-Mexico border, part of a high-profile campaign pledge from President Donald Trump.

Despite Trump's pledge to make Mexico pay for the wall, the bill earmarks taxpayer money to construct a carrier along the southwest border. To avoid having those Republicans who oppose the measure vote on it directly House Republican leaders tucked it into a procedural measure that set the debate plan for the so-called "minibus" funding bill for several federal agencies.

The bill passed 235-192 mostly along party lines.

The wall funding was added to a measure that combined funding bills for the Pentagon, energy and water, legislative branch, military construction and Veterans Affairs.

The $658 billion defense spending legislation was $27 billion more than Trump's budget request, and would provide the military additional fighter jets, ships, helicopters and troops that the Pentagon had requested.
While the wall funding was the most contentious piece of the appropriations bill, it was just a small sliver of the spending package the House approved.

The defense spending bill also conforms to the House's budget outline, but it violates the Budget Control Act spending caps commonly known as sequestration. The Senate is not planning to give the military the same level of funding unless the caps are lifted, which would require congressional action.

Senate Democrats are demanding equal increases to domestic and military spending in any funding agreement, a debate that will heat up closer to the October 1 deadline for Congress to fund the government.

The promise of the Wall was probably one of the main things that got him elected, so it's only right it should happen. It's just a shame it's coming from the US taxpayers' purse.

One of the Dumbest things from the King of Dumb.

Hopefully he'll be out of the White House before they hand the cash over.

Great to see that his sneaky 2am Reapeal vote on Obamacare last night failed completely when McCain gave it the Thums-Down. TrumpCare is DEAD (like his Presi'dunce'y).

Worst President (if you actually accept him as one!) in American History. One of the Worst people in the History of the World. Totally morally and mentally Bankrupt............soon to be also financially bankrupt.

There's a criminal 'running' (aka. ruining) the USA.

PLEASE explain what was untrue or incorrect ? When you have no answers then you'll probably just resort to  again.

Granted some of the post was my personal opinion (which i'm allowed to express) but it's all based on factual evidence, and i used actual words.

The part about the 2am 'TrumpCare' vote is an actual event that is available to view on video (McCain giving his 'NO' vote and thumbs down) and the aftermath and Trump's response is clearly viewable in his deranged tweets.
All you need to do is look for it on Google which takes seconds.

Clearly documented TRUTHS is what follows

Are you saying that there's no posts of yours where you name call what you deem to be deserving public idiots ?

I'm just saying the same thing that tens of millions (probably way more) of people around the World are.

His latest 'undeniable' instances of being DUMB just this past week;

His speech to the Boy Scouts - DUMB
His Speech to US Police Chiefs Association - DUMB
His threatening tweet & Personal threats (to her actual State of Alaska) to Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski - DUMB & Illegal

....and thats just a few of the primo instances of his royal level Dumbness just this past week, all clearly on public record for anyone's perusal.

If you're going to 'comment' on Political posts then surely it would be in your interest to stay current on what's happening in the Comedy World of Donald Trump's 'Politics' for the Pre Starter ? It's both hillarious and terrifying all in one ridiculous package.

After all, as the Washington Post pointed out last week, the wall is the clearest victory Trump could win on immigration, a typically difficult issue that he's put at the heart of his presidency. It's also the manifestation of his self-image as a builder.

One thing Republicans have always been good at is wasting money and tanking the economy. Nothing new. This mythical wall proposal was passed to save face with their angry constituents. It will never pass the Senate. There is no need for a wall. People build tunnels. A finished wall would cost 20 billion dollars. lol. The entire thing is a joke. Trump's fan base is 34%.

Given the amount (http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/immigration/327229-crimes-by-illegal-aliens-not-legal-immigrants-are-the-real)of crime brought to America by illegal Mexican migrants, and the cost (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/09/01/immigrant-welfare-use-report/71517072/)of the welfare bill, I don't see the problem with Mexico at least chipping in.

Trumps days are well and truly numbered so building a distraction wall is the least of his problems.
The Republicans have finally reached that point where they're beginning to see that they might be better off trying to at least save the Party because the chances of Trump being taken seriously by anyone now are slim to none. He doesn't understand the most basic of Political principals let alone the intricacies of actually being President.

Build the Wall around Trump and don't put a door in it.

They reckon that even if he's goes right now it could take anything up to ten years to just repair the damage he's done to America. I find it incredible with everything that's known about Trump that even a single American actually believed that he was ever interested in helping the American people. He doesn't even have any loyalty to the members of his cabinet that supported him on every stupid idea he came up with regardless of whether the thought it was ridiculous or not. Jeff sessions was his number one supporter throughout his campaign and also through his first six insane and unproductive months in the White House and now Trump no longer has any need for him he's treating him like a piece of dirt on his shoe.

I think this is Trump's 'death spiral' period. Watch him go down in flames! It'll be many Americans' fondest memory of the moron who tried (and very nearly suceeded!) to destroy their Country.

What's the most damaging thing he's done so far?
1. Leaking our classified military information to the Russians. Letting people on the Russian payroll have access to our National Security secrets (in the form of Flynn).

2) Not shaking hands with Merkel. This sends a message to our allies (who he should have promptly kissed a little ass to, or at the very least have shown a bit of respect too, as they're the ones who have our backs). Now Europe is going to write America out of the equation. You think having North Korea doing a nuclear program is bad? How is it going to be when Nato (without the US) develops their own nuclear program, and the US isn't in it? It would be just one more country in the arms race. How would it feel if the US lost all their bases in Europe? We'd have isolated Mexico and Canada, so what's left? Isolationism? Or cozying up to nasty politicians from countries with abysmal human rights records, like Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, China, etc, need I say more? They need to get rid of him ASAP, before he does even more damage.

Oliver_W
31-07-2017, 08:56 AM
Now Europe is going to write America out of the equation.

Europe isn't going to write off one of its best allies because the President didn't shake hands with someone who ruined her country.

JTM45
31-07-2017, 05:27 PM
What's the most damaging thing he's done so far?

How do you choose ?

Removing regulations which stop companies from dumping chemical waste in river and waterways.

Sharing top secret security information crucial to the safety of the West with Russia, one of the West's biggest threats.

Allowing people with mental illness to easily own firearms. Perhaps Trump thinks that an average of 85,000 firearm deaths per year just isn't enough ?

Pulling The US out of the Paris Accord when the US is the second biggest polluter in the World after China, who are taking massive steps towards reducing their emissions.

Completely trashing America's Relationships with their closest Allies.

There really is SO much damage done.
