This has me absolutely fuming for some reason. Also, it's stupid on so many levels.

1. What's the problem with getting money and fame by appearing on TV? Almost anyone would do it if they could. This snobbery needs to end.

2. There are hundreds of unis in the UK, there is only one Love Island.

3. Many people will have signed up for LI for a laugh, you don't tend to do that for well established unis like Cambridge.

4. It's insanely difficult to get into Cambridge, whereas anyone can apply for Love Island.

5. People who go on Love Island don't leave thousands of pounds in debt.

6. It's just a stupid tweet.

Yeah I agree with all those points. The comparison doesn't work at all, it's just somebody taking the opportunity to look down on other people. Pure snobbery.

Not necessarily because people of all ages can apply to Love Island whereas it's only a certain bracket applying to Cambridge
