I had to double take at those figures at first cos of BB18's low ratings lmao

Over 2 million looks so good

Yeah in context with BB18 it's actually quite good. BBUK lost 400k viewers on last year while CBB has only dropped 200k

If it's publicised BB is ending beforehand though I can see January doing really well

(Also just seen Nikki's In Therapy got 1 million. I thought it would be the highest rated episode but that's still Katie Price's.)

If they're going to axe it I'd rather they announced it sooner rather than later so the iconic housemates have a lot of notice that all stars is happening. Tiff for example couldn't do CBB19 because it was too short notice for her schedule.

I agree about that, IF it's ending I'd like an announcement at the finale.

But obviousoy I'd rather it isn't ending, and I don't think it will be tbh - this is a low rated summer CBB and it's still taking up 5 of the top 6 shows on C5 last week

For some reason this post is giving me alot of hope super:hehe:I’m definitely wrong and idk if it was you or not but in another thread in BB18 you thought it might be axed... but a few days after you went to the house and went behind the scenes etc you’ve got some hope:smug:then again I’m probably wrong but I’m more positive now :)

Yep pretty much, it would mean 1.8m+ officials, I know the lowest rated series is 1.9m, but I think ~1.8m would be OK for such a bad time BB has had this year.

The official ratings are decent but doesn't Channel 5 only care about overnights? Because official ratings include people that recorded it and watched it later so that means people fast-forwarding the adverts are included.

1.33m is okay, about on par with CBB16 right? I think CBB18 just did unusually well last year.

supertv247

I don't even think that's a exaggeration either. The last 2 ratings will be around 2m officially. If it stays like that for the next week, we could be seeing a 2m average, at this moment, I don't think it will be the lowest series anymore. I think it will rate at 1.9m officially like CBB16?

I mean it needs 1.95m to get a 2m official, or it needs a 1.85m+ to avoid a new low officially.

Guess we need to see the officials, the first week added an average of 550k-600k so if it does the same for the rest of the series, there should be at least a rounded 1.9m.

The first 6 officials equalled 1.89m.

Well it's no surprise. The weekend and people are out. In the last 10 weeks of watching BB/CBB, I've only watched on a Saturday live once.

Even look at Love Island this year on Friday's. It was it's lowest rated day, just like Fri/Sat is now BB's lowest.

I don't think it will be increasing unless there is big drama now.

Last Monday got 1.31m so hoping it beats that tonight, but then Tuesday and Weds last we got 1.47m and Thursday 1.40m, so I don't know if any of the remaining episodes will hit that. I feel final will get 1.5m.

Thursday 10th - 1.87 Million
Friday 11th - 1.52 Million
Saturday 12th - 0.89 Million

Damn it, annoying!

Series average so far- 1.803m

Hoping the higher ratings for the week gone (the two 1.47m and the 1.4m) can help push it to 1.85m+ but the weekends have ruined any momentum.

Lets hope for all 1.4m+ this week which can help it!

Quite shocking that the ever so loved CBB is now only just 200k ahead of what last years BBUK got (and lower than BB14 for that matter)

Hopefully if anything, this gives C5 a good kick that as long as they get it right, either series can do well, not just CBB

I think instead of a year off they should just have BB All Stars one summer then a 'reboot' the following year. Summer CBB axed obviously

Either way, it would be much better than now and would give it a lease of life

It's been really consistent around the 1.4 mark. My prediction for the final is 1.5m

So is this series officially better ratingswise than CBB18 or at least CBB16?

Celebrity Big Brother: Live Final (incl +1) - 1.58 million (9.2%)
It peaked at 10:05pm with 1.9 million
Celebrity Big Brothers Bit On The Side - 643k (7.5%)

Highest rating since episode 2 and most watched Friday all summer! It's higher than I expected since it was a Friday, not bad at all

From launch to finale, it held on to 88% of the audience (dropping 200k), in comparison to CBB18 holding 74% (dropping 550k) and CBB16 holding 78% (dropping 480k)
BB18 held 69% of its audience :)

Not BOTS outrating like the entire MakeorBreak series

Great retention there!

That is what we should focus on, we know for BB it is very very rare for a final to end up higher. It's happened only once on C5 (CBB13). Usually for any series, BB or CBB, retention is lower than 80%, so 88% is very good.

That's incredible.

And the fact MOB was between 10-11 and BOTS was 10 45-12 15 is hilarious. :joker:

MOB average share was, what 4%? So 7.5% share.... hmm, almost double.

Sadly not, first half of the series dragged it down, (and obviously launch), but with the increases in the last 2 weeks, the officials could go from 1.8m (where its currently sat) to 1.9m matching with CBB16.

This could happen! The two weeks of officials yet to go had a lot of 1.5m overnights during the week and if catch up has built up too then 500k each would take it to 2m and could lift the average to 1.9

Week 3 officials are in...

Mon - 1.76m
Tue - 1.89m
Wed - 1.92m
Thu - 1.88m
Frid - 1.44m
Sat - 1.53m
Sun - 1.80m

Series average - 1.78m

So the series average has actually slipped even further :( Catch up figures weren't that bad but nothing spectacular to help lift the average with the bad weekend numbers. Will officially be the least watched series by around 100k now

Last 5 days of officials coming tomorrow afternoon, but we all know series average will be 1.8m.

BB18 average= 1.24m.
BB18 final officially got a very low 1.11m.

So I predict CBB20's final will be around 800k up on that (as I think it would have been around 1.9m)

Mon - 1.79 million
Tue - 1.77 million
Wed - 1.77 million
Thur - 1.76 million
Frid - 1.87 million

Official Series average - 1.784 million

The final CBBBOTS averaged 800k

Axe ha! Axe ha!

They can't axe they are contracted for the whole of next year which sucks as I want it to go to a channel who will look after the show....and actually wanting the show on their channel is an obvious bonus lol.

I thought the final would be 1.9 but finals don't really add that much officially anyway.

if someone could be bothered to do a table showing what the final week added compared to the overnights would be much appreciated.

I thought that catch up was a lot for a final!

Corrected it now.

It's retained a lot of viewers tbf and interestingly the weekly average climbed week on week from 1.72, 1.73 and 1.76.

I'm still shocked BBUK vs usa only averaged 1.9 and that was 2 years back so really hardly any drop.

They should have done UK vs usa in a January series it was a classic. I was catching up nightly even though I was staying in hollywood. GEEK!
